You shouldn't really use oliveoil to cook warm food in, beacuse it can taste really nasty. Use some other oil that doesn't taste anything, like rapeseed oil or so, and save the olive oil for salads or whatever.

Different oils have very different uses because of differing smoke points. using olive oil to sear a steak for example is a bad idea because of how hot you want the pan to be. Also if you don't want the flavour of olive oil (in your pancakes for example) many other oils, like Sunflower, or Corn work very well without adding their own flavour.

@MAYFACEGOLD I'm not saying it's a bad flavour, it's quite nice, but not something that always goes with what you're cooking. For example, eggs.. (I'm assuming you mean eggs, not aggs) it does go well, and I won't argue that. But when it comes to pancakes, crepes, or waffles, not so much. The olive oil tends to clash with whatever you're going to put on them be it syrup, some kind of compote, or even just butter. Olive oil IS good, but it's not very versatile. and I can't say it's the 'Best'.
