  • Good one -- do you have the Aussie 'Hugo said you go' cartoon ad for KFC?? From around 1972, I would say.

  • @DocReasonable - No, I haven't got that (from later, around '76, I think), but it's on YouTube...

  • @Conniptions886

Hey thanks -- it is too! I remembered almost all the words too....

Hope you can turn up more Kelloggs cereal ads, great archival effort you're making here.

  • I kinda miss the old red and white striped stores. They do the best spud & gravy!

  • What Happen to the finger lickin good?

  • Do you have mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw there? KFC used to taste pretty good, I haven't had any lately though. They say not to get the grilled chicken.

  • How proud we Americans can be of exporting junk food around the globe! Everything tastes better when it's coated in a deep-fried fatty covering, don't you think? Sure you do! We ALL do!

  • i like the history of kfc founder

  • this information's really helpful. i'll be needing it for my T.L.E. report. thanks for whoever made this. =D

  • i want some chicken :(

  • Back when KFC actually sold fried chicken.

  • @brendanfick

    What do they see now?

  • It just doesn't taste the same today as it did then....

  • They should open stores that look like the early ones, use older cooking techniques and call it "KFC far-Out Groovy Classic".

  • r.i.p

  • Its a shame now a days its all about trying to have to proove to the public that your product is healthy and has all this, instead of just plainly saying hey its good you should try it etc. Not about getting bloody libby tricktett to tell us all about how healthy it is. I want to know how good it tastes for god sakes!

  • this is how KFC should of been. before they only used to sell kentucky fried chien itself cooked to perfection and natural ingredients at very low prices for the whol family to enjoy. nowadays your paying your weekly salary on little horminic chicken that has been dipped i nchemicals with watery gravy on the side which totally sucks. vintage KFC ftw. god i miss those great fresh chicken days at very low prices.

  • @vazkilzan

    Um, cooked to perfection?

  • @vazkilzan *you're?

  • Oh wow... I remember the first time we went to get KFC, and I got the job of holding it all on the back seat of the EJ Holden, and managed to drop the potato mash and gravy onto the floor.. trying to scrape it back into the container before the old man noticed..

  • Don't worry, I bet you still like KFC though ? Am I right ?

I love KFC. KFC forever !

  • Yes, I still eat it, though less often.. dunk the chips in the gravy.. no thigh pieces - too greasy..

It is different to when I was a kid -the coating used to be fluffier I reckon..

  • heheheh! classic!

  • they got in before mcdonalds id guess

  • They did. McDonald's didn't open in Australia until 1971.

It wasn't just the first KFC store in Australia either. KFC was also the first American fast food outlet in Australia.

  • Rabbit

  • Hard to believe KFC did nothing for their 40th birthday in this country last year.

    Keep uploading these gems!

  • But people still went to KFC, that is enough for Collins Foods International

Long live KFC and the Colonel.

I love eating KFC at KFC....
