  • most over rated player in the country. fuckin weak for a big guy. if u had to make a montage of his shit play it would be a very very long video

  • Great video!

What is the song called anyone please??

  • ha pierre asking the other team do the want a lift or piggy back to the touch line?

  • it makes no sense for a man that big to move that fast.....

  • was mauled by the lions

  • I wis there was a rugby player who was 6.5, brilliant at tackling, extremely fast, got one bicep bigger than my head, and south african............oh wait......

  • incredible athlete !

  • what does he always wear on his arm?

  • @SuperCatRapist arm gaurd usually used if have a injury or just for fancy shit :P :L

  • 11

  • The bulls where so good at the breakdonw in this video they had quick ball everytime

  • This song is from the film "Gladiator".

  • i dont think that this is real footage

  • I was just wondering if you guys saw Dagg's try in Wellington vs SA? He left Spies and Burger grasping at air, bit embarrassing right? You guys were so lucky Wales didn't take their chances, cause when Samoa beats you would have been out. Who knows Samoa could beat you and Wales could beat Samoa then it'll come down to bonus points. Wouldn't wanna be a South African supporter about now. Thoughts?

  • @GpmNZ89 P.s. didn't mean to sound like a cock, the world cup is just getting me a bit worked up, I trust all of you in South Africa are enjoying it as much as we are in NZ, I thought Brussow and Burger played well against Wales but many didn't. Basic things like letting kicks bounce in your twenty two, but to be fair Wales played their hearts out and you till got the result. Personally just not a big fan of South Africa's emphasis on kicking so much ball away, cant wait to see SA vs Samoa

  • @GpmNZ89 If you ask me, they needed game time to get going. They definitely rode their luck against Wales, but during their two real offensive moments, at the very beginning and some way into the second half, they scored. This showed, for me, that the Boks had potential, but needed time. I feel I was proved right after seeing the Fiji game, in which the South Africans won comfortably and by an good margin. Although there are still things to work on, I think they will improve with more time.

  • @GpmNZ89 we will talk again after the semis when Pierre Spies destroy richie mccaw and the kicking style comment is not suited after the last 2 games.

  • @Cybernum2 Not here to gloat but Spies did absolutely nothing against Australia except take dumb options like running blindside of the back of the scrum. You would have been better of with another flanker because Pocock was killing you at the breakdowns even before Brussow went off. Hats off to Burger he played his heart out and had a massive game. You had most of NZ supporting you I was gutted with the result, would have been nice to play against a fellow injury ravaged team.

  • @GpmNZ89 Lawrence fag ;)

  • Darn Bryce Lawrence U Kiwi git ;) Craig Joubert FTW

  • Pierre"No rugby brain" Spies

  • sort of like the south african jonah lomu

  • what's this song called?

  • all he can do is run, work rate is shite!!

  • The only No.8 who could outrun a wing...

  • what is the song??

  • Speed with talent deadly combination

  • i'm not american i'm british, but anybody realised that if the USA got rid of the NFL and replaced it with an equivalent rugby system then literally every player on the american team would be built like pierre spies? hahaha

  • @SteamedPanda Maybe, but they wouldn't be able to play a full game of rugby. That's the difference between the two, rugby players are a little smaller on average but they have far more stamina than the average football player who would capitulate in a rugby game.

  • He is an absolute animal!

  • he's so articulate

  • If Pierre Spies is the Bok number 8 at the World Cup the boks will loose the World Cup!!! Probably the worst player in the world if you take player abilities to player size ratio! Gio Aplon will be a better number 8 than he is a wing/fullback weighing 75kg's but can do stuff with his body that Pierre Spies can only dream of!

  • A guy with his size should be far far more dominant. He just hasn't reached the heights I expected. Still an animal though.

  • spies has scaled heights far greater than any number 8. no one has been such a devistating weapon like this guy was in his prime

  • Pierre Spies is a machine!!

  • the best world number8 in my books so far, and fastest to say the least! man has this guy got some gas or what!

  • oh.. so this is who they based action man on..

  • JUST POWER!

  • Power - Henry Tuilagi

    Technicality - Sergio Parisse

    Everything Else - Pierre Spies

although.. i'd still prefer parise in my team over spies

  • @DaveGrohled no way parisse sucks against spies, spies would run around, over and through him!

  • 2:18 = Konkofski door mat :D

  • in the super 14 in 2009, he was absolutely immense, this is proof of that, he failed to emulate it at test level and since has actually been nothing but mediocre to be honest, hes an amazing athlete no doubt but has lost confidence somewhat, should be dropped really so he can work himself back into the boks squad. is he less confident because he doesnt wear a scrum cap and arm band anymore? lol

  • Jonah lomu + Brian O'driscoll + Johnny Wilkinson + Bryan Habana = Pierre spies

  • @tgodden1 how can you put spies in the same category as johnny wilkinson? wilkinson is a rugby genius, one of the best 10's in history. spies is just a power house 8, an amazing 8, but nowhere near wilko's tactical ability.

  • @tgodden1 errr no, thats just stupid

  • @tgodden1 idiot

  • why is he wearing 11 in that ad

  • @liamlivingston1 In his younger years he was a wing

  • @liamlivingston1 The guy wearing 11 is Habana. Just a different part of the add that was selected by mistake. See the rashvest:). Spies was no 8 at school level but played wing SA u19 as a Lomu experiment which didn't work out.

  • Parisse is better

  • last year he was a great player maybe best number 8 around this year hes been a lazy cunt hes been hanging off the fringes to much does nt seem to commit at the breakdowns as much as years gone by he needs a one on one talk from the coach i think.kieran reid he streaks ahead of him at the moment as the number 1 number 8 around

  • 2:16 USES RYAN K. AS A DOORMAT

  • Totally overrated. Reckons hes the "worlds best No.8" does he? Haha not a chance, freakishly quick but not a rugby player

  • whats the song

  • Pierre Spies is a complete and utter fucking Spartan... should have been in 300

  • 1:20 Casually paper work in the office.

  • what's the song?

  • The song is by Lisa Gerrard. It's from the Man on Fire Soundtrack

  • Look how offside at 2:43 ! haha

  • @KwyKz0r he wasn't offside he just ran at the right moment to intercept the ball

  • @KwyKz0r He wasn't offside. He looked that way because the motherfucker's quick!

  • Fuck he's fast for a number 8

  • I think it has something to do with the lions tour to south africa on sky sports? Either was the introduction sequence to a test match or was an advert for the series. I could be wrong, hope it helps though!

Type in Lions tour of south africa ad, should be a making of thing, which shows the final sequence!

  • lol to chuck norris

"Most kids sleep with a teddy bear, pierre spies sleeps with an actual bear."

  • what happened to the older video

  • lol @ the score at 0:40

  • the best number 8 of the world after harinordoquy

  • @MBAXMAN93 thx man!

  • I just shit my pants.

  • Pierre Spies is beter as Chuck Norris!

  • Whats the advert called at 17 seconds please?

  • NAME OF THE SONG PLEASE!

  • Unbelievable...

  • FRRRREEEEEEAAAAAKKKKKKKK

  • This guy is as fast as a back and as strong as a forward.

  • He's no ordinary beast...he is a fucking quick one

  • pierre spies is a beast

  • hes not even good, mate colin bourke got way more skills den him..... but his a fucken beast alright

  • The springboks for life, i just wish a coach was selected for the team as opposed to a political agenda. The best man for the job regardless of race. South Africa just humans do believe two wrongs make a right.

  • someone could tell me the name of the song in the background?

  • Spies doesn't come from anything of Brock Lesnar...

He eats Lesnar then spits him out for tasting like shit

  • specimen....... simples

  • he should be a winger .what a legend. his footwork is class

  • @youknowit104 He was a winger but got too big so he moved to 8

  • Spies is a great talent , bt not as great of player nd has no form ryt nw....he never does when he plays internationally, unless its against shitty teams nd he isnt even worthy of being compared to lomu, atleast not yet....

    PERFECT talent - average vision

  • Sonny Bill who?

  • sounds like Afro Celts but I can not place the music. Wish I could.

  • Spies is my favourite player but he needs to come to the party.

  • such wasted talent, hes got everything except for themind. he form has been terrible.

If he can learn how to play intensely and how to play smart then there will be very few people gutsy enough to stop him

  • Spies=MONSTER, Burger=Monster, Bakkies=MONSTER. Go Bokke!!

  • i fucking love the music so perfect

  • Dudes just calm down this is a video about a world class player don't bore us with your sexual phantasies , enjoy this genius !

  • At the moment he's not in top form...He used to play wing and he obviously has the speed for it. He's just not a good Number 8. He cn't tackle or secure solid ball. I wld play him at wing, here he can receive quality ball and use his size, strength and speed 2 run over opposition wings and score tries. So at 8 we can make way for players like Duane Vermeulen, WIllem Alberts or Ashley Johnson

  • @3mnanmar The only problem with playing Spies at wing would be replacing either Habana or Pieterson on the wing. Not only are those 2 good players, but they are also people of colour which helps make up the numbers of non-white players in the team. If you were to play Spies on the wing, you would have to put another black player on the team who may not be the best choice for his position.

    Sad but true.

  • HE ROCKS!!!!very nice song!

  • that guy should video his workout routines and sell them

  • @tunemyguitarnow I bet they're not very complicated.

  • for those of you that say he is fast is because in his younger days he was a winger and then he got size and moved to number 8

  • 100m in 11 seconds...6'5'' and 19stone...pierre you BEAST!!!

  • Pierre Spies comes from the Brock Lesnar school of how to be a fucking animal in the Gym

  • Man his size and speed are insane but whats more crazy is that Spies is a true forward!!

  • @FrayOfLight Doesn't really surprise me, still it's impressive that he can be a competent forward and back.

  • @FrayOfLight oh dear, your english is even worse than your novice Kiwi opinions. Just because "he was fucking winger before these years" doesn't mean that it's not a great ability to have the speed of a winger STILL as well as the ball-carrying ability and physicality of an eighthman.

  • The man is a machine, great music what's it called and who sings it???????

  • @1zenager It's Lisa Gerrard, Man on Fire themesong

  • Fking hell the speed of this guy - i thought the first clip was of Habana by accident

  • Would be interesting to see this guy play league

  • He's a good rugby player and he's perty. Can I keep him?

  • hey, I would like to know the name of the song! The singer is Enya, but I don't know which song is

  • It's rare that you see both a big and fast number eight these days. Players are way too busy bulking up to think that speed matters.

  • Pierre Spies is a true rugby player. He has the speed and the stamina + the strength He is one of the best players to have our blessed the game.

  • I wish we could have a Pierre Spies with Schalk Burger mentality. That would be dangerous.

  • spies is the man but in the super 14 final this year when he ran into bekker and got driven bak he looked ssmall.spies is great tho

  • @jmanistheman12345678 Bekker, yes that is the guy kissing the girls on the benches in the park correct? Judgment on one hit shows typical western province mentality. Maybe that is indeed the reason Vermeulen is not selected, he looks good but is not up to the task. Francois Louw is a good example, he looked good but never was up to the task at hand. Western Province indeed has a problem with this type of thing...

  • He is a super player. Don't think he is as good as Jamie Heaslip or Imanol Harinordoquy but he is close. Hard to judge the best of the world at the moment because they are all class. We'll see what happens in New Zealand :)

  • @kgilly89 think its safe to say u arent serious in your second sentence there...

  • @nicgeldenhuys think its safe to say you are from SA

  • Ryan KanKowski is proven to be faster... apparently, or quicker.

  • @FrayOfLight yh he is cus in the rugby world magazine they said he was the fastest num 8 in the game

  • What an athlete

  • This guy Pierre Spies is real man. He worked hard to be in where he is in today. Hard work will always be rewarded. He is different from Lomu and Lomu is different from him. For guys who speak bad about him, you are bunch of Loosers,Childish,Nothing in the head and Lazy Critics.

  • Pierre is a giant!

He started working hard very young, his dad told him when he was a little boy that one day he will make 'Loftus' (Bulls rugby field in Pretoria) roar... so true!

Watch the video on his life!

    Pierrespies. co. za

  • The guy is obviously taking steroids, there is no way on can get like that naturally, I wouldn't be surprised if you was also on growth hormones, just like Johann Ackerman.

  • And say that based on what facts?

  • My tribute to Pierre Spies:

    Fuck off, Pierre Spies

  • Massively overrated player.

  • @TheTotalRugby

It is not that he a overrated, it is more people expecations of him. Whenever he is not running 40 meters to score a try, leaving a bunch of casualties in his wake, people feel that he is having a bad game. Look at his work rate, even in games where he is perceived to be "quiet".

  • Are you high??? You are entitled to an opinion, but go look at the stats. The best 8th man in the Super14 this year. The man is a machine.

  • becuse habana is better

  • has the man

  • why the number 11 jersey?

  • What song is this? It's not from gladiator but it's similar.

  • 2 : 18 spies vs kankowski :O

  • he is my fave player.best no8 in the world. I dont think parisse, chabal ect. can score from their own 10m line.he is the only forward in the world who can do that with his pace.I guess you can call him a cheetahbeast

  • Superman.

  • what an absolute beast

  • whats the name of this song?

  • pretty sure it's from gladiator

  • song plz ?

  • Wow.. He Is.. Unbelievable .. Through My Eyes. A HERO !

  • Guy is a phenomenal athlete. Doesn't have the all-round game of Parisse or Harinordoquy but he's still quite a young a guy.

  • @leonidasaa

    *a young guy

  • Im going to agree with you there man. but I think with his complete freakish human athleticism, if he develops more leadership, skill, and ability to read the game, he will be unstoppable. If he makes this step up this coming year or next year at the latest, I think he has the potential to be up there with the best backrowers ever

  • bro..He is the best backrower....What more skill do you want him to have and of course he reads the game well, hey thats why hes the first choice 8 for the Boks.....he breaks tackle, intercepts, tough defender....what more do you want;...

  • wow ok mr pierre spies expert why dont you go suck his dick if your so in love and apparently know so much about him I just was commenting on a great video but if your into that more power to you buddy

  • watch your mouth mate.........no one is condeming you or of that sort......Give honor where honor is due......

  • come on...have you seen them running 40,50 meters scoring tries,i dont think so....Hes a game breaker and those two are just like all typical backrowers(8).....

  • @iceman82320 Of course it is impressive that he can. Im not doubting the talent he has but his all-round game is not on a par with theirs. Harinordoquy has really developed that that during his career, Parisse is a freak of a player. Believe me i have watched these guys almost week in week out and they are simply immense.

I've never seen Spies dominate a game from the backrow in the way those two have. Yes he's played well but i've never seen a dominating performance.

    We'll agree to disagree.

  • @leonidasaa yeah but they play against other Northern Hem players :D

  • @1274Stefan Oh snap :D Well based on what i've seen this year at least NH players can tackle and hold a proper defensive pattern :D

  • great athlet... too much power

  • Number one athlete in sport right now and this is coming from an American football fan. He just needs to work on his defense.

Lomu was good for his time, but don't think for a second he'd excel in rugby today. Habana would take him down in a heartbeat.

  • i agree, everyones bigger and stronger nowadays, he wudnt make the same impact in todays game. Hed still be quality and would break many tackle bt wouldnt be as impactive.

  • not realy look at guys like matt banahan and concider that lomu was like 10 kilo's heavyer then him (soszs for the bad english im the netherlands)

  • @TheRealChadMustang lol are serious....lomu will still own teams nowadays

  • @umaa002 don't be stupid...Lomu is playing french division 3 rugby...and his season's been very very average

  • @ktothej93 Sorry I mean when he was at his peak, before he had his kidney problems. That Lomu can still do damage to teams nowadays. Sure players nowadays are bigger and stronger but this guy was running over forwards when he was at his peak lol. Come to think of it, he was never at his peak since he had the kidney problem all his life lol. I dont know why he's still playing though.

  • @bombertheelephant bro keep talkin and im gonna have to kick your coloured ass all the way to district 9

    biatch

  • @bombertheelephant

    eat this shit yo

There is shame... as you kiwi faggots think the all blacks are the pinnacle of world rugby when? in reality they are nothing but fucking losers who love to get their arse beat by south african rugby champions. 2007 all blacks got owned by the springboks and now in 2009 they get their arse handed again to them by the boks. Fuck off home you useless sheep dagger maggots..

    owned cunt haha

(btw bombertheelephant is 40 year old dude)

  • This man is raising the bar to a whole new level for an 8th man...Great player!!

  • would people who go on about lomu shut the fuck up and learn something about rugby,he was a good winger in attack because of his speed and size when rugby was coming out of an amateur era,his d was ordinary and his hands were shit he got turned by high balls, couldn't catch and had jeff wilson(a true world class winger) to cover his defensive an positional mistakes.

and Spies is an eightman so u cant compare him and lomu

  • mate people are only compareing them cause pierre's 0.1 times faster then the best winger of all time!.

  • @Leinster4life13 spies started on wing when he was younger fyi.

  • @Leinster4life13 So true, Jeff Wilson was a freak

  • hes the fittest rugby player in the world what an athlete !
