Nice to see a professional demonstration for once:)
Also huge props to you at Krank for getting such versatile guys, instead of just doing metal riffs for 6 minutes. I want to play all kinds of stuff on an amp, and Krank, you may now colour me intrigued
I'm going to slap the shit out of that camera man...
And its probably because of youtube's quality or because of bad EQ'ing, but this really doesn't convince me to buy a Krank... Sounds way too scooped for my liking.
That sounded really bright and thin on all examples. I've played this amp it doesn't sound thin or bright like this at all. I don't know who dialed the sound settings in or what you did in recording the tones but you need to revamp your process because this amp sounds WAY better than this!
does the overdrive sound much different on the rev plus then on the krankenstein?? because i need an amp with a good clean channel but then some of my favorite metal players get their sound with a krankenstein.
@archenemyowns Personally, i think the guy who plays the classic rock, jazz, twang and mordern country is pretty great. But the two guys from the bands doesn't get a very good tone out of the amp, which totally is a shame, since its a amp with great diversity! The guy from Vaccine makes it sound harsh and dry...
I heard people say this is a one trick pony. This amp is way more versatile than people give it credit for. It's one of the few really high gain amp that has an awesome clean channel too. Krank makes great amps. Krank it up!
Hey, when can we expect videos for the Nineteen80 amps? I'm about a month away from being able to afford the head, and I'm excited to hear what it can do.
Um, I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure you can't do that. You can send it to Krank to have em mod it for use with 5881/6L6 tubes though, which is I believe what they used before upgrading the trannies.
@KrankAmplification Then why the heck was the demo ridiculously limited to the gnarly metal chunks and squeals in lower tuning, like on a 7 string, instead of presenting it for a crowd of people that don't need or want this amp as it's "a high gain, GAINY amp"?! Great examples of what the amp can diversely do, but the key crowd of Krank buyers want it for gnarly metal, not classic rock (go Marshall), not blues (go Peavey), and not for country for crap's sake!!
@hotmonkeypunk Sorry my definition of metal must be different. I was hoping for heavier metal similar to heavier bands out there and not some core chug. Bloodbath, cannibal corpse, hell even some thrash riffs from slayer would have been cooler. 5:05 is a good demo but I would have liked to see some heavier style riffing...
I dont see the point of showing jazz and country and stuff, not that the music is bad, just that what bluesy play is honestly gonna buy this amp? Its blatently just a metal amp for metal guitarists
Actually one of our first endorsees of the Rev played with Ray Charles, it was the clean channel that hooked him, and the Krank Channel has alot of different sounds for different styles and that is what the video is trying to express.
Learn something new everyday, either way without sounding like a dick, i still do think its mainly for metal, i mean look at it, its mean haha, not something you could picture a jazz player with :P
Have to agree with Krank on this one, That Kleen is so beautiful with the jazz tone, simpily priceless tone. Well it costs quite alot but you know what i mean.
@Esbanez I gotta admit i was impressed by the other sounds besides that brutal metal sound. This helps them expand their market, invariably making people call krank sell outs....
I've heard that the Krankenstein has a bit more gain but personally I think that the only difference is that the Krankenstein has a overall Master volume as well as the two master volumes which can be a big help, I guess it just takes sitting down with both and playing each of them.
when i imagine krank amps i imagine that dude

I don't see why the host doesn't play guitar. I mean how can he know the true feel of an amp when he doesn't know what it feels like?

For a high gain amp it's really missing something... maybe I'm just used to the 6L6 tubed high gain amps. Kranks just don't do it for me I guess.
tvelt17 2 years ago 3
you can put 6L6's in these.
just bias it up for them.
