  • what if your computer needs a admin password

  • @ladiezman247 If you need that password, as long as you know it, you'll be fine.

  • @saxman112 thats the problem i dont know it do i need to change the harddrive to get rid of it then or can i use a program to get rid of it

  • @ladiezman247 You will need to get a new hard drive and install Windows on it, and then you can format the other drive/partition from there.

  • @saxman112 Press F2 to go to setup menu for the motherboard then change the selection for bootable device select CD drive on number 1, floppy drive on number 2 and hard drive on number 3 then click Esc to exit then click save to restart computer. The computer should boot from CD when the CD drive device is set on number 1 selection , some computers has factory default setting that the hard drive bootable device is set on number 1 that's why the computer start normally even with CD in the drive.

  • @saxman112 Dan is the Nerd Man , not the computer man.

  • hey dan! I go to your school! ha! XD GO CMH!

  • lol u 4got one thing dan, u type this:

    FORMAT C: /FS:NTFS

u have to format it to be NTFS or ur hard drive would say it has no memory on it lol

  • By default, my hard drive is always NTFS.

  • not everyones drive automatically goes to NTFS just to let u kno :)

  • nice work mate :) i do know a different way of doin this, but the computer that im formatting has a mind of its own lol, so this is the only way i can do this =)

  • whats wit tha loadin this :S

  • oh a little tip umm you forgot to explain to press f2 and like uncheck "boot from windows" and leave boot from cd....just to help

    cya Bobby

  • u retard it will say to boot from CD and u press any key.

  • and also it was very long and cut out parts we dont want to c its not that hard to do man

and u dont have a show so dont call yourself dan the computer man lmao thats the gayest name i have ever herd for a show

  • thats one ugly computer lmao get a new computer

  • haha u go to my school... FRESHMAN!!! i heard rumors u made this kinda stuff so yeah

  • you should learn how to talk instead of learning how to NOT format computers

  • 1. Please research how to edit your video to cut out the boring stuff including that long "Loading" intro... it's not too hard to do ;)

    2. This is unnecessary. The format can be done during the installation from that blue page at the end, whether u want quick format (wipe the MFT) or full format (reapply NTFS to the filesystem). For a reinstallation, quickformat's all u need.

What would be useful is a video on securely cleansing a hard drive.

  • I just can't load up the disk from start up <_<

  • LordMydin, to fix that go into your BIOS and change the setting to allow the computer to boot from CDs.

  • dude i restart my compuer with OS cd in and it just restarts normaly!! How do i boot from CD? PM ME WITH THE ANSWER PLEASE!!!

  • What u have 2 do is eject the CD drive with your computer on, then you have to restart and it should go back in automatically. Then, when it shows "Press any key to boot from CD", you just press any key and follow the instructions on my video.

  • @saxman112 You're not computer man you don't know computer that much. You do it the hard way just to format the hard drive all you need is to press ENTER in the menu choice instead of press R recovery console. Someone asked you how to boot computer from CD when the computer is start normally with the CD already in it and your answer was u have 2 do is eject the CD drive with your computer on, then you have to restart . Wrong, dude!! when the computer doesn't boot from CD you have to press F2

  • You look like a retard.

  • why are u making fun of him.....loser

  • Get a life.

  • good comeback stop making flaming ppl.

  • can you format a ps3 hard drive on a computer without the cd

  • I don't know because I've never used a ps3.

  • hahaha the music.

  • what if you dont have a cd

  • Arrrrr! Go sail the seas matey!! ARRR!

  • What computer is sold with an Operating System disc? I have owned 3 different systems (Sony, Compaq, and Hewlett Packard) and the only CD's I got were AOL trials and Light Scribe disc... Would the recover disc it asks you to make at first start-up be the Windows disc?

  • Of the 3 computers I've bought, all 3 have come with an OS installation disk

Sometimes the more fascist companies will include "reinstallation" disk. But if your computer didnt come with a cd thats some bullcrap company.

  • how do you insert the disc before turning the PC on?

  • I had my computer on at first, then I ejected the disc tray, and I shut off my computer.

  • you can also stick a paper clip in the little paper-clip size hole on the outside of your cd tray.

I know it sounds like you'll die but thats what its for, opening without power, I swear, google it.

  • no way i had no idea how to do any of this thanks so much acne man tthhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu llllllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooootttttttttttttttttsssssssssssss im the person ull never meet

  • Is your Hard Drive a FAT/FAT32 Partition File System? If not, you have either NTFS/HTFS File Systems. Please Try again, eh?

  • after format the C:...

is the computer restart automaticly or itself?

  • I think it restarts automatically.

  • i did the same thing...kinda. I had a lynix computer and I wanted it to be Windows XP. I tried installing XP but it didn't work so then I tried installing 2000, that worked. I then tried to upgrade 2000 to XP. There was no update path so I did what you did, format the hard to XP...again. Tis time it worked!! Yah!! I have like 5 computers in my bed room. 2 are realy realy old, another 2 are newish..they're XP, and then I have a laptop with Vista. Vista is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • LMAO!!! I have that comp, it was my first compy, now im running my new one =]

  • No offense but your computer is ANCIENT! LOOK AT THAT GIANT MONITOR!

  • ???? That was not necessary, just press enter to install windows and follow the instructions, it's not necessary to go into recovery console.

  • please. never post anything again.

  • Dan the nerdy computer kid.

  • watch?v=n0cop_am1WM&feature=related i rest my case!

  • u dont have to press R atol all u do is press enter as i say, after that screen u get the option to delete the selected partion as u do then u hit enter to set up xp on that selected partion and thats u. this dan characters just made it hard for him self. if the drives never been formated before u just hit enter to set up xp on c drive as normal.

  • give me a share

  • ur talking pure crap man, when it comes to the screen where it says set up windows xp and press enter u press enter not R!!! thats to recover any lost data after a system crash u noob!!

  • u can do it through command prompt, but to reinstall the os, u will need the cd

  • wicked:D ive always wanted to know..what excatly du i have to press?

  • in the command prompt u have 2 type format C:, and then it might prompt you to enter the label for your drive, and then u will get a thing in the command prompt that says "Warning, all data on the non-removable disk drive C: Will be lost!" then u press yes to continue with the format

  • Hmmmm... I think you can buy a Windows XP CD from Office Depot. I've seen them there before and they are still sold.

  • ok so is window vista a whole new system set up that i can buy and set up as my system

  • yeah

  • Thanks, Dan! That was a very big help! Matt

  • It's the Jeopardy Think Music. I can send it to you if you'd like.

  • Why do I get a UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME, error got it before and after I formatted.... trying to install windows XP.

  • no he should keeo this title cuz he is formating, AND installing but maily its all format

  • You should have entitled this video, how to install XP, which if was the case, using the recovery console was a pointless step. That last screen is asking you to choose a partition either an existing FAT or NTFS partition with the option to start from scratch and format/create a new parition regardless of whether you have previously formatted or not.

  • When I try this, it just says it's detected a problem with the hard drive and it doesn't seem to recognize that the CD is in... I think all the thunderstorms we've had lately might have done something to it, but I'm not sure.

  • hi can u tell me pls how can i format dell c521

  • Do you have your OS disc?
