this is a decent cheap stick,

there is nothing wrong with a cheap hori stick. Don't be fooled by overpriced madcatz sticks that easily break down. Hori is a well respected, long time joystick maker.

well there's only a 10 dollar difference, so price is pretty negligible, and i'll be using this hours on end on a daily basis for games like sf4 and blazblue.

eitherway it's a bit of money, so i'd like to get the most bang for my buck, so any input would be great :D

yeah this is a very good fighting stick apparently, Street fighter is popular usage for it, I want to know if Virtua Fighter 5 will work good, so hard on controller to move and hit.

I wouldn't say "very good". It's a better stick than the SE stick out of the box, but a lot harder to mod.

This still has it's issues, isn't going to last long, and will eventually stop registering either button presses or the microswitches.

I say get the SE stick and buy Sanwa/happ/or seimitsu buttons and stick. It's an easy mod due to the quick disconnects and it's not expensive.

was a bit disapointed as the stick didnt stay flat.. it wobbled abit as the 4 rubber grips at the bottom werent even. :(

did that happen to you too?

i had to stick a piece of folded business card under one of the grips to keep it level and not wobble around.. :(

Hori is definitly better than that brick of a dinosaur madcats.. its too big to be played with if you place it on your table and use your PC monitor like i Do.. so i prefer the Hori..

If you are talking about the Tournament edition then no. but remember hori ex2 is 59.99 and Madcatz TE is 149 or on ebay it's 200+. I own a hori ex2. it's worth every penny. if you are compairing to the standard edition figth stick. from what i hear, the standard stik is a little nicer, cost a little more but has a lot of probs with it. Most people end up spendin$50 in upgrade parts and in that case. i wouldn't bother with that either.Go to toysRus. They have them in stock now. Rock the ex2

Great review. I have been looking at alternatives to the Madcatz Fightstick seeing as how there have been a lot of defects on it. Plus, it is 20 bucks cheaper.
