Stopping bullet requires dispersing the kinetic force of the impact. Stopping a knife requires stopping the blade from penetrating.

A plate that would stop a knife easily wouldn't do squat to stop a bullet.

@jimbojim68 depends on the edge of the blade, the angle of the strike and the force of the strike. Some knives can penetrate kevlar if you come right down on it with a direct stab and enough force. You won't slice through kevlar tho.

But yeah, if the knife is sharp enough and you have enough force, it'll go right through. But you really have to tee off on it.
