kelly will you make a video of all of your pistons and give a indepth discription of all of them? and wich is you faverit piston im considering the acorn and the red stag wich do you prefer?
All my fire pistons are built with the same internal parts , so they all preform exactly the same. It's really just a matter of choice on what design and material you want, because they will all have the same reliable performance.
I do think I will make a video which explains my design in more depth though.
Trust me you'll use it. I have 3 and they are not only fun, but you can make a fire easier then any fancy magnesium gadget on the market. Plus, most people have never seen one and will guarantee that it can't work, until they see it themselves. My 8 year old has using one down to a science ! !
Beautiful craftsmanship, no doubt there. But tell me, is there an advantage of using one of your tools over a flint fire starter? No lube, no fuss... I just don't get this whole fire piston deal.
A fire piston will light many natural materials that a flint won't. The lube can be almost anything including saliva. with a piston you can create a coal almost instantly and about every time! For me...a fire piston is hands down the ultimate survival fire starter. Thanks for your comment.
dude i love you...i got one a couple days ago and i just couldnt figure out how it would work..i understood the theory but yea... then i guess it must have been a combination of the several strokes with lube and starting right as the O ring enters...but it worked first try and i was like SCORE!!!!!!! then i wentoutside and started a fire..thx
I'm glad it helped you! Once you start playing with these...ya just can't stop!!!! The good thing for me is, I make them for a living and get to play with them everyday. Kelly
