Thank you for posting this song with a great remaster! If any song needed to be heard in hi-fidelity it is this one. Seriously, how many of you have heard this song a hundred times and still get chills when that piano starts?!
People who heard for the first time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer have no idea how heavily charged the atmosphere was in those days with romance. Mysterious but not sinister.
I can almost smell the fragrance of the teenage girls on the dance floor. My best friend had a 1957 dodge convertible. This will be played at my funeral.
Ok Man, you said it's Remastered ! Did you do it ? If so you did a great job !
Where did you get the original tracks, they had to be on at least 8 for the master and 8 to 24 tracks from the studio to the board to tape ! I would love to try a mix down on this, so do you have the original tape ? Oh Please, Oh Please, Oh Please !! lol
Listened to this as a baby. Always thought it was the best rearrange of a song ever. Simple production back then but made it up the charts. Listen to it again and figure out what they did to the song making it classic. Then go listen to an original version since the 30's big band days. Nice,. Cool. Smooth doo-wap. A lot of you may have even been conceived to this particular song. Think about it. How often does music have such and effect overall? Only the coolest songs have that power.
First time i heard this song was years ago on a soap opera Days of our Lives for the charecters Carrie and Austin i fell in love with this song im a musician so i love all styles of music from any area thanks for posting
This is about as good as it Gets..The Flamingo's Nailed it..When Music is simple with harmony and Lyrics it moves you..Over and Over I keep hiting replay..
My Mom introduced me to this record when i was a kid in the 70s.Thank u Mom for grounding me in REAL music,i miss u and LOVE u forever.I'll never forget the yellow and reddish Roulette label hypnotizing me as it spun playing THE FLAMINGOS.This is the stuff that made me develop a beautiful singing voice!!!!!!!!!!!!Oh and early60srcool i LOVE your comment :))
@iluvrachellef I FIRST HEARD THIS SONG IN THE 60`S AS A LIL BOY, I KNEW I LIKED THE SONG AND I ALWAYS SEEM TO HEAR THE SONG AT NIGHT IN WHICH STILL TODAY,I LIKE TO HEAR THE SONG AT NIGHT
Love this song, have done ever since the first time I heard it, sitting in the car on evening, listening to WMCA or WINS -- can't remember which one now -- and it was astonishing. It still is: the words are simple and direct, the melody is precise, the lead is understated and powerful, the vocal accompaniment is open and dream-like but not overdone or "slushy". A perfect gem of a song.
I'm having a great time listening to these wonderful oldies! Never thought I'd find them all in one place on YouTube. Amazing photos too. I love them all. Thanks so much.
Beautiful. I'm on the fourth playing as I write this. If there's any such thing as perfection in music, this is it. Thanks so much for sharing, and for the info and photos.
Moonlight streaming, late at night, just the kids standing outside the candy store, guys with their doo-rags wrapped around slick hair, just the front of the pompadour showing, pointy shoes from florsheim, hustler pants, (very wide legged and cuffed), banlon knits. girls-tight capri pants with those wide belts at the waist. white cotton shirt and ballet shoes or saddle shoes with white bobby socks. And all listening to 5 fly guys doo-wopping, voices wafting clear to the heavens WOW! memories!
@early60srcool Everytime I hear this, I give a big sigh of contentment, it's just perfect isn't it, and the backing is heavenly, magical, mysterious & just right.
When I hear this song I try to picture the day they were in the studio recording it for the first time

Was played this song about 10-15 years ago, it's one I don't hear that often in the media. That's why it's more of a gem when it is heard

I think its awesome that 2KGames is incorporating music from the 50s and 60s in their games, Bioshock, The Darkness II, etc. sets the mood.
