hello! I want to visit Aarhus with the exchange programm ! I'm 22 years old and i want to study there 1 year.! 1) I want to ask you if Aarhus is a good city to live and stay that long (1 year) . 2) Has it many things to do there..? 3) Are many other students there? 4) Is cheap city or expensive to live.? 5) The language is difficult to learn ? thanks a lot...!!!
Hahaha it's so odd being from Denmark watching this :D
Damn, but good job with the video...
I have a buddy who's an exchange student atm in the US from Denmark aswell, he says it's so cool... But I hope you enjoyed it man, Denmark is something speciel, except the weather sucks ass!
omg what a sweet video!! I'm Danish and have never met u, wich I really would have loved too ;) haha that video really melted my heart with all those sweet thing u said about us (and yes offc. a girl is writting this ;) )
Everybody I hope u are going too enjoy Denmark and I'm going to meet u all (yes I'm a busy girl!!)
I love to hear people from other contries talk danish :D It sounds funny... Mostly because danish is one of the hardest languages to learn... I am danish and some words are acutally hard to say for me even :/
the song is named: nik og jay boing boing and its the worst boyband i denmark trust me :D all makes fun with then try to say rød grød med fløde its more funny
Dont know any of the persons in the vid, and I'm not even from that part of Denmark, but I have to say - very cool video. Cheerful and sad at the same time cause it looks like you had a great time in our country and was sad to leave. Good publicity for our country compared to all the hate-vids on youtube. Also cool to see that you took Nik & Jay to heart:-) From a dane.
I love this video, it's awesome, I'm from Denmark myself, and right now I'm an exchange student in USA, so I kinda know what you went through, and I know it hasn't been easy for you, all the time, but I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for sharing
What is the name of that song towards 2:00? I'm a prospective outbound to Denmark btw.
Thanks all! I haven't had much time recently to check this, but I very much appreciate the comments and the love that people share for Denmark, Youth Exchange, and travel in general! It was truly a life-changing experience! For those of you that are thinking about going on exchange, choice in country does have an effect on your experience, but your attitude in whatever country you go to with have a much stronger impact. So you really can't go wrong!
I live in Middelfart in Denmark (on Fuen Island, just across the Lillebaelt Bridge), and we've had quite a few exchange students here. And as I tell them all - You're more than welcome to return. If you need a place to live, find me in Middelfart, I'll gladly find a place for you. There's a reason Danes have the reputation for their hospitality. Everyone is welcome in our country. - The video almost made me shed a tear, even though I don't know you. 5/5!
Ok you just helped me so much, I realized how important and how blessed I am to be on this exchange, to not waste one moment of it. Thank you so much!
I'm from the Netherlands. After living in America and going to Denmark too, also all over Europe, I can say that 1 thing is blatantly obvious-- America today is the/if not THE least hospitable country there is. The Netherlands, Germany, other places are good, but Denmark is definitely the most hospitable, no question.
@grant20100 hehe that will be great and now on danish ja denmark er et okay fedt sted men det kommer lige and på hvor hen du tager nogen steder er flotte men andre steder kan godt være lige som i usa eller bare en stor by men ja danmark er okay men jeg vil og besøge et andet land
I'm living as a foreign exchange student in the US currently, and loving it. I'm originally from denmark. I can't express how much an exchange-year is just the greatest experience of all. I encourage everybody out there to take the chance.
Hey! ive been offered an au-pairing job in Aarhus but dont speak danish- wondering if you had any advice? could i socialise, move around and generally function just speaking english?
In Scandinavia you can be sure that every people would understand you, and most persons speak perfectly english. (Im a Dane) Aarhus is a nice city, were are you from?
Seems to me, as their were lucky having you as a friend to, with the ammount of time you used to make this movie - great job. I'm sure they appreciate your stay, as much as you did. Come back sometime soon, cause you gotta admit, it's a great country :-P
I get so proud when i hear about people who visited Denmark and had a great time here. Great video, covered a great deal of what Denmark stands for. Tak for besøget ;)
That is a nice video, Im also an exchange student, and Im in America right now. But i started to miss lovly Denamrk, when I see this video.. Im glad you liked it, you are always welcome.
wow man you speak beautiful danish i can i little danish to ahhhhhhhh who am i fooling i am danish tusind tak for de pæne ord du sagde om vores land haha lol
Very well made, and great capture of Denmark. Well, I'm biased of course, living here and having done so my entire life.
Glad you enjoyed your stay, and I'm sure I speak for most, if not all danes, when I say that you're as welcome to return as can be. That goes for all, in fact, do come enjoy our great, if rather smalle, country.
Nice to see that ppl are happy after a stay in denmark :) And btw. U guys made a pretty good job on reading danish. Its so damn difficult even for the danes.
Wonderfull video, it really shows what a good year you had here. It's always good to hear, when people from other countrys have had a great time i Denmark!:)
OMG nearly cried! Thats so deep! I kno exactly what u mean, Im in Newcastle for only 6 months goin back to Denmark in 2 months now and I´m sure- I´ll be back, NC!
I lived in Denmark for 8 years, was married twice, fathered a son, drank like a fish, spent a few hundred thousand dollars, beach, sex, jazz...and great people. It was the best time of my life.. and YES... it was not always fun. But Jeg elsker Danmark...du er smuk!!!
Great video! I was in Copenhagen last year, also as an exchange student, and it was the best experience of my lifetime. Denmark is really the place to be! ;)
I was an exchange student myself 3 years ago in Florida USA, and it was the best year of my life. You meat so many nice people who you feel are able to understand you in a very different way than the people back home and you learn so much about yourself, life and many other things that no school could ever teach you.
Hey man, unbelievably awesome video, It's really warms my heart. And love to Denmark too, I really love Denmark too and i've been here since may 07. Im so glad that someone else sees the country from what it is and not through twisted medias or what else gives that douchebag YouAreFaggot the reason to say such shit. Anyways, i love that movie. Really captures the spirit from which you made this video. Love the commentating or that voice in the back.
Smuk video. Tak for nogle gode minutter.
Beautiful video. I enjoyed it even though I do not know you nor lived near you.
I made the HSG-video that you have linked to somehow, which is the reason I found this one. Thx for a couple of good minutes.
HAHAHAH!! I like how you guys are pronouncing Danish at the beginning!! ^_^ It makes me laugh, that's exaactly what I was doing when I first started learning!!
I really like this clip, often when strangers makes clips about trips and their friends, it only people who know them who can enjoy it, but i enjoyd watching this.
Wonderful job on the video, and it expresses the gratitude I still feel for the folks who made my time there very worthwhile. You'll be happy for this video decades from now. I was a Rotary Exchange Student in 1979, and last visited Danmark in 1986.
hey were u a rotary exchange student because the photo of the group of exchange students looks like its at the holbeak get2gether which is at the school i went to on exchange in '05 nice video and every word was true
hey.. i dont know you but i am Mads' brother.. dont know if you heard about me.. im in brazil right now.. you stayed at my house.. searched for maarslet and found your video.. hehe.. its really good!

Whereas people who says that Danes are stoic and cold towards foreigners probably missed the whole point of Denmark.

YouAreFaggot - FUCK YOU!
AMAZING!!!

Smuk video. Tak for nogle gode minutter.
Beautiful video. I enjoyed it even though I do not know you nor lived near you.
I made the HSG-video that you have linked to somehow, which is the reason I found this one. Thx for a couple of good minutes.

Oh, and by the way.
It is interresting that in the end when you said "Tusind tak for i år..." you actually had a Jydsk-accent.

Wonderful job on the video, and it expresses the gratitude I still feel for the folks who made my time there very worthwhile. You'll be happy for this video decades from now. I was a Rotary Exchange Student in 1979, and last visited Danmark in 1986.
