I wish you encounter this problem to understand better. Sometimes people like you don't understand unless these bad events doesn't occur to the them-self ...
honda knew there were many things wrong with the cars from 06 to 11 models i have an 08 model and the coil packs keep going out this started at 11 thousand miles i currently went through two coil packs. older hondas were best new hondas are shit.
My Jazz from Australia uses a basic snap lock system so it won't move at all if the car is locked and will only open if the car is unlocked. It doesn't have a pressed opened method but a finger tab to lift the door with no problems. It's strange that India won't just adapt overseas technology which is probably cheaper to manufacture since it has less mechanics.
@nitishprakash Thanks for your reply . i guess they have discontinued this colour (blue) in the new jazz . Your car looks awesome and well maintained .
Thanks a lot. But in very start I was totally unhappy with Honda response on my issue with the car. But yes it is a good car. For colour I don't have any idea. You can check with different showrooms ... they must have.
@ItsMe2609 Sadly, Honda doesn't care ! If this had been US, Europe or Japan - they would have bled through their noses for this issue - paying millions in penalty. Honda sucks in India.
Dude,After 10 years of monopoly, Honda's innings is over in India. No more a premium badge and Jazz in India is a flop and honda now announces a whooping 1.5 lakh rupees discount for jazz and 70,000 for City. Now we have a range of cars from VW, Toyota, Maruti, Fiat. Good bye Honda and your monopoly
Hi, I think it was not known to many people who are willing to or had purchased this car model, Else I would had not made a purchase either. I only want to let other people that there was a bug in Honda Jazz. Review this before you go for purchase. Media is good if used in proper manner. This is the way I thought to let prospect buyer to know about Honda Jazz problem. Had to file a case against Honda with a
The older Jazz/Fit models had better petrol cap systems. It was a basic open and close plate (instead of a pushing cap). It didn't move if the Jazz is locked. However the new model; like one in the video looks cleaner as it has no finger tab.
@Passengertrains4ever No appropriate repairs have been made as on this writing. Honda refuses to acknowledge the mistake. They have refused to deny/acknowledge the problem which I informed them in writing.
I had similar issues wrt fuel tank. However the solution is fairly simple. The problem is with rubber inside the fuel tank. The issue is with the size of the rubber. There are two solutions for this.
1. There is no LED / Indicator on dash board to inform driver if the petrol tank lid is open.
2. The same car is sold in USA, where it is Left Hand Drive and therefore easy to find out if the petrol tank lid is open or not. In India it is Right Hand Drive.
3. Honda says that this is a feature, but this is not present in all Honda Jazz sold in India.
4. Considering the level of theft cases in India, this is an absolute defect in Indian conditions.
Yes I did. There was a theft happened. Also the temperature is too high in India these days. And open cap is not suitable. There are possibilities of catching fire.
No. Although there is high chance of catching a fire. One can do a small lab work to understand the possibility of catching fire. If the car is running on road with the temperature in a range of 40 to 50 degree Celsius.
This problem is not ther in the latest model of Honda Fit in US (similar to Jazz in India). I personally tried pushin one Fit parked nearby my car yesterday.
I have heard that this problem has been rectified in post 2007 Fit models...
If you have a video of ford figo, please upload that instead of making an unheard most likely false statement. Don't make this a Honda Vs. Ford contest as to who is worse !!!
If you have pain in your ass, expressions are there on your face. Similarly if petrol tank lid have been pampered or is open, then there should be something on dashboard to express.
@vicky: Nope. I am a jazz owner and am driving it from last 5 years in UK and bloody well know my car. You certainly seems to be one of the idle group of frustrated people sitting in India.
You know your car but we know what Honda and other cheapsters like you are doing. You must be getting paid. You survive on pizzas and beer and giving lecture here.
This is a serious problem with Honda Jazz in India. One of my friends has confirmed the problem in his car as well which he bought in Apr'2010 in Mumbai. This problem is not as serious in USA as the petrol tank is located on the same side as the driver. This seems to suggest that Honda does discriminate against Indians when compared to Americans.
Does Honda Jazz comes with Cruise Button in India ?

Maybe you shouldnt have tried to ask $3,000 under invoice on a car that barely has $500 profit.

Hi all,
I have this problem rectified from WhiteField Honda in Bangalore.
The reason why the tank lid opens, when vehicle is locked, is because of a faulty rubber (the one that has a spring like movement).
In 5 mins, i got is rectified from Whitefield honda.
The length of this spring (concealed by rubbery material) has to be reduced.
Contact Mr. James @ Whitefield Honda, Bangalore. He can help you get it rectified.
Enjoy your Jazz guyz. Its is superb car.
Cheers,
Kumaar Guhan

Pathetic on part of Honda to sell defective cars!!! and they are not even responding!!!
India should ban sale of such defective cars! Also, this needs to be communicated to every customer so that they can avoid purchase of defective cars
