Maiden is going into semi-retirement if you didnt know. They aren't going to do huge world tours like they used to (this is pretty common info btw). I LOVE Maiden (seen them 3 or 4 times live) but they just dont have the energy that they used to (physcial energy, not stage energy) that they sued to. It's sad.

Most J-rock bands I dont listen to. I listen to Versailles, X(sometimes), B'z (not really that great anymore) and The Yellow Monkey.

I think 99% of Japanese rock sounds the same. I can't tell most of them apart by sound or looks. Galneryus and a few others are an exception.

I don't know why people think Japan is any more unique than anywhere else. It's not. Galneryus is a great band, but they're not great because they're Japanese, they could have been from any other country just as easily.

But even as I say this, the Japanese rock market is pretty bad right now also. About the only group really worth listening to is Versailles. X japan isn't X anymore (no hide) and now they may have to cancel everything because Heath's managing company is being anal about a contract or something.
