The notes are exactly the same, it just stretches the fretboard/highway whatever so it looks like its faster so you get less time to think about the notes ahead. Yet you are playing at exactly the same speed.

If the song was faster it would sound high pitched, or if notes were placed differently it wouldnt match the song :)

Actually, hyperspeed can make a song easier, depending on the player's reaction speed. On some songs *coughs at Zakk Wylde Duel* it's very hard to tell which notes are coming first. Hyperspeed fixes this by spreading the notes apart.

I would say trying different paths would be very time consuming, and logic just says "use Star Power where there are a lot of notes".

But there are ways you can actually get a note chart of the song, get a pencil and paper, and do calculations to help make an "Optimal Path" In a way you are trying different paths, but you arent playing the same song over and over, you are just adding up points for the paths and seeing which is better.
