FS Studio Hiking through Desolation Wilderness

There exists a great mystery in Desolation Wilderness. It always occurs in a same location of the sky, 10-15min before sunset and lasts only for a brief moment. Keep your eyes open and you too may stumble upon this amazing phenomenon in the Desolation Wilderness.

Myself and a couple of friends backpacked Desolation for more than 40 years. 1960 thru 2000. I've been to the top of Tallac 4 times. Explored countless lakes, many of them more than once. Been snowed on, rained on, and pissed on. I thought it was one of the most majestic places on earth. My legs won't carry me to my unforgetable Desolation any longer. I truly miss that!!
