  • Donner cut is amazing !

  • How many versions of this movie are there? I have watched at least two different ways in which Lois finds out Clark is Superman, two different ways he makes here forget, and have never seen this part whatsoever.

  • the highlight of the DCut. No distrespect to Superman's mother, but his father was the one who taught, and guided him along the way in S1. Why would his mother take over that role?

  • @msmithstud it was for financial reasons. the salkinds hired richard lester to replace r. donner. that was a major mistake that ruined everything. this scene w/ superman & his father was a major highlight of the film. ****

  • @d4seasons I knew Brando's scenes were not used in II due to costs. His father sent him to earth, he taught him everything he knew after the construction of the FOS in part 1, so it makes only clear sense that his father would advise him not to forfeit his powers. Quantity over quality always has a price.

  • @msmithstud thanks for replying. i find it very difficult to watch c. reeve. it's so sad that he had suffered so long & died. also wife dana. i'm glad that i had the chance to have met reeve & gotten his autograph. a true gentlemen. he was very tall & skinny. i'm sure they'll be more releases of those 4 SUPERMAN movies. the third one was just awful & terrible. i hope they'll release j. williams unreleased superman tracks that are still stored in the vaults as i've read. enjoy.****

  • @d4seasons it's impossible for me to see anyone else as Superman w/ out thinking about Chris. He looked more like the comic book Superman than anyone else. May he and Dana rest in peace. The way Dana changed her life to care for Chris shows how committed she was to him. God bless their kids.

  • @msmithstud i feel the same way. just like george reeves from the 1950's. @ first lots of fans thought that reeve's role was hard to fill but c. reeve made the role great. r. donner said that chris was superman. he almost cried when he talked about chris. i wish his kids well too. matthew is a director & producer. alexandra is an attorney, & will is in college. hopefully he'll become an NHL player. enjoy.****

  • @d4seasons thanks for the update on his kids. Someone losing their parents back to back is too difficult to comprehend.

  • @d4seasons i believe the Superman: Blue Box released all JW material

  • @TheRescorer thanks for writing. i'm sorry. what is JW material ? i hope it's more SUPERMAN DVD projects in the works. ****

  • @d4seasons John Williams

  • @TheRescorer hi again. thanks. i've read that j. williams still has unreleased tracks from SUPERMAN - THE MOVIE. i've already have the blue box edition. great stuff. ****

  • yea!

  • This is very Christ like.

  • I would have added Superman saying "Thank you, father."

  • not bad, pretty cool idea.

  • In the new version of this scene, it will be VERY different than this one.

  • i think it would have been cool to show, intead of that shot of superman standing there, to have a scene similar to pedalero's scene. it would look kick ass! but overall great job!

  • From time to time, I have seen the difference between Donner's version and Lesters. Donner's version would have been much better. Lester tried for a more comedic interpretation. Donner's would have been a much better film like Superman I.

  • That was EXCELLENT! I thought to myself the same thing when I saw "Superman Returns" It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's BACK!

  • In Lester's version, I agree about the Metropolis return. In Donner, we KNOW what's about to happen, and I wanted there to be a triumphant moment to celebrate it. As I've mentioned before, I enjoy the whole God/Christ parallel that Donner included, and since we just saw the "willing sacrifice of the father", it seemed in keeping with the spirit of the film to show the "resurrection of the son." That's my take, but I understand that it's a personal thing, and may not work for everyone.

  • @onekingprods hi, i dont know if you realised but the god christ parallel wasnt donners intention as it is reportdley written. superman was a jewish creation and in jewish scripture god will send a messiah but it shall not be a god and his son relationship. also general zod walks on water like christ in the bible and non and ursa probably represent apart of the trinity to zod the father. i read this somewhere a while ago, the only similarity is that jor-el his kal-le's father like jesus and god.

  • @onekingprods . also jews and christianity shall have a rivaly due to jews not receiving jesus as there messiah, although christians do not view having a sort of rivalry to jews, jews in general are informed that christ is the obstacle that stops there messiah being the one. and as far as muslims go both belive it is false. i am muslim by the way, and we belive in return of christ.

  • The reveal scene is where Superman shows up at the Daily Planet. We don't need to see him back in the Fortress after the repowering. The flashes of the Fortress was nice, but it should have cut there. The end with him standing was a little, not a LOT, lame.

  • fair enough excuse well done again

  • Hey thanks, man. When I saw the Donner Cut, I knew I wanted to have a "reveal" moment following the repowering, but I didn't want to take away from his triumphant return to the Daily Planet in the next scene, so this seemed like the right compromise.

  • nice dude i have always wanted to see superman fly out of the fortress in that scene but good job dude
