From a legal standpoint It can be seen, but only up real close with the cop standing behind the bike while bending down. They even sell radio controlled retractable license plate kits online for sportbikes. Things are tough all over for cops trying to catch speeding motorcycles.

i feel like that was a bad rider.... takes me 5-10seconds to lose pigs & that's on a 650. Hit a highway, put your head down and keep that right hand pinned. Practice a few times, before you do it for real though. The massive adrenaline combined with not being able to slow down (cause you have to lose the cops) + going in between cars 150mph+ will definitely give you the shakes. & remember when in doubt... slow down more for a corner. They're heavy and sit lower than most other sportbikes, so he had to slow all the way down before making that right turn off of 25th Ave. If he hadn't, he would have lost it. Any good experienced rider will never run...why? it's not worth it. So you get away, now you have to live scared cause you know the cops got the description of your bike. Not only that but is it really worth loosing your license over? I've been stopped many times for speeding on my 05 CBR1000RR...cops always ask me "how come you didn't run?" Police can't just do whatever they want when chasing a suspect, they actually have to worry about others safety. Not easy to juggle pursuing and safety.

As an avid motorcyclist who takes his 750 out any time he can get, I for one just don't get why the rogue motorcycle's just don't get hit by the cops, its so freakin easy to lay a bike down and if the cops just crash right into the back of you, they would easily catch up to you. It would prevent this type of behavior, hell me throwing a brick at a motorcyclist might make them crash to. Point is, this is whack behavior and the motorcyclist should probably get punished with their death.

Very true. The police will chase someone for simply speeding, ignoring the fact that the chase causes much more danger to the public than the speeder. When the cops hurt or kill somebody, they plead innocence. They blame the speeder.
Many PDs will no longer chase MCs, because there is no effective way of forcing the rider to stop without killing him. This PD could have nurfed the MC as he turned the corner, but the rider would have been injured or killed by doing so.

i feel like that was a bad rider.... takes me 5-10seconds to lose pigs & that's on a 650. Hit a highway, put your head down and keep that right hand pinned. Practice a few times, before you do it for real though. The massive adrenaline combined with not being able to slow down (cause you have to lose the cops) + going in between cars 150mph+ will definitely give you the shakes. & remember when in doubt... slow down more for a corner. U slide out & it's jail time bitch. Unfortunately speed limits

They're heavy and sit lower than most other sportbikes, so he had to slow all the way down before making that right turn off of 25th Ave. If he hadn't, he would have lost it. But once he finished his turn, C-YAAAA!!! If he keeps this shit up eventually one day he will make a mistake and, if he's lucky, will only lose his freedom and driver's license.

Any good experienced rider will never run...why? it's not worth it. So you get away, now you have to live scared cause you know the cops got the description of your bike. Not only that but is it really worth loosing your license over? I've been stopped many times for speeding on my 05 CBR1000RR...cops always ask me "how come you didn't run?" I just say it's not worth it...I've been let off 7 times.
Respect goes a long way especially when you let someone do their job!!!!!!!!!

There was a cop a year or two ago that got 20 years for killing someone while trying to catch a sportbike that he never caught....should have gotten more than 20 freakin years, any cop who thinks they can catch a bike for one is an idiot...power to weight ratio is always a riders friend even on a 500cc. @xlogixic - You maybe don't realize that unlike criminals and anyone running from the police; 1. They don't give a damn about anyone else on the road and therefore do not need to look out for anyone but themselves when trying to get away. 2. Anyone on a motor cycle has a much larger advantage over any 4 wheel vehicle, especially in the city.
Police can't just do whatever they want when chasing a suspect, they actually have to worry about others safety. Not easy to juggle pursuing and safety.

As an avid motorcyclist who takes his 750 out any time he can get, I for one just don't get why the rogue motorcycle's just don't get hit by the cops, its so freakin easy to lay a bike down and if the cops just crash right into the back of you, they would easily catch up to you. It would prevent this type of behavior, hell me throwing a brick at a motorcyclist might make them crash to. Point is, this is whack behavior and the motorcyclist should probably get punished with their death.

Doubt it. 1. He probably crashed anyway. 2. If they didn't catch him that night, he's on the run because they have his information now. Somebody will find him. Running on a bike doesn't guarantee that you get away. It just puts your life at risk.

Many PDs will no longer chase MCs, because there is no effective way of forcing the rider to stop without killing him. This PD could have nurfed the MC as he turned the corner, but the rider would have been injured or killed by doing so.
