  • Jeez...This more like a RR documentary, rather than a 787 documentary...:)

  • Whats the video where A380 was doing some crazy take off ?

  • I hate this dramatisation in every single documentary on TV - deadline etc...

  • A fantastic documentary however I don't understand why RR is so proud of their orders for large engines when clearly the largest and most powerful jet engines in the world are the GE90-115B used on the 777-300ER

  • Seriously? 240p? Give me other one

  • Well QANTAS got there milllions because of a bad engine

  • @MCSparki1 its their not there :)

  • This isn't really a 787 documentary it's more like a RR engines on the 787 documentary

  • Do you watch shows that you steal? This is called "How to build... A Jumbo Jet Engine". It is an episode of "How to build..." show made by BBC. It is not about the 787, it is about Rolls-Royce. The title and the description on this video are totally misleading.

  • Wrong aspect ratio. To avoid re-uploading please add "yt:stretch=16:9" to the tag list of this video. Thanks.

  • Boeing kicks Airbus in the face, 'cause if it ain't Boeing, I ain't going!

  • @TheRobloxianTalisman If so how Airbus has managed to sell more planes in almost every year during last 10 years?

Also only retard chooses higher priced flight because of manufacturer.

  • It should be renamed a Rolls Royce documentary, bc that's what it is......still entertaining.

  • so much for HD

  • Why did you try to americanify the documentry? i.e.Boeing, CNN

  • BIG UP TO BBC

  • Its BBC not CNN

  • it is BBC 2 not CNN and more of a R&R documentary not about the 787, but still nice to watch. Thanks

  • @Xira86 Welcome

  • was this recorded with a potato?

  • @Semeiron No this was recorded with a camera. Did you go to school??? You are so dumb

  • @Semeiron

    ??? LOL ???

  • @Semeiron No. But perhaps you are watching it with a potato? :-)

  • does anyone know when the B787 arrives here in the UK yet? I THINK Thomson is the first one due to fly it commercially in this country...cheers for any info

  • Amazing. That new birth engine much large size, more powerful technologies and strong blade kill against bird strike. Bye-bye a old technology can kill the people cause failure engine. That Trent will install a Boeing's new model much improve, B777, B787, B747-8 also Airbus A380. But I shocked that Qantas's A380 trouble engine. Who responsible checking a engines on before take off & after landed.

  • was it GE or RR who first designed the engines for B787 and B747?

  • @Chamath5 this is not about boeing 787 not it is from CNN, Its about RR and from BBC!

  • @ozeeo this is produced by bbc but it was broadcasted in CNN.That is what the website that i got this video from say

  • The 757 RB211 engines have the best sounds but no that fuel effecient enough huh.

  • Why is the top comment the top comment?

  • James May as narrator? I was troubled at first haha!

  • @EddieLivesOnLincoln He's not James May.

  • @Mocib Yeah, I know, it's Gerard Fletcher from Coronation Street. At first I really thought it was James May, and it made sense for like a minute, since he's into aviation.

  • this is not by CNN.. its by BBC..

  • I think i only saw a 787 twice in the whole documentary. you should just rename it the story of the Trent engines.

  • This documentary seems to be more on the Trent 700s that power the A330 than the 787's Trent 1000s

  • should rename it "Rolls Royce documentary" instead

  • Interesting, but would have liked a little more info about the plane, not just the engines. Thanks for the upload.

  • What are they talking about the GE engines are way better than The Rolls Royce.

I don't want to go into detail.

I also couldn't help but notice, but this documentary is mostly about the engines, There was hardly any thing about the plane itself.

  • @krew8pops Way better? Don't think so. Boeing didn't use Rolls Royce engines on the demonstrator aircraft because GE are better did they

  • GE engines are cheaper the Rolls Royce!. That is why GE was used here for testing if anything goes wrong in test mess up the crappy cheap stuff like GE!. Do some research before making outrageous claims like GE is better then Rolls Royce, people like you are the reason for B,C,D grade market think a 20kcar is the same as a 80k car? And also hand made Rolls Royce Vs. Robots GE.

  • @krew8pops i know.. the one who posted this vid screwed.. this is the "how to build... series by BBC

  • @Bourne246 Yeah... My dad works for Boeing in the new Charleston plant, and he said they sent him a dvd in the mail with a bunch of real documentary stuff on it.

  • @krew8pops yep.. i rest my case.. i even heard BBC somewhere in the intro.. :)

  • @Bourne246 Yeah, I went back and listened and I think I might have too.

  • looks like the engine cowls are prepared for turbine explosions like th eone qantas expereienced

  • SO 240p we meet again

  • amazing how much does into each part! wow

  • this is so old is was still in england when i saw this and it was about 4 years ago

  • This documentary deserves atleast 720p. c'mmon!

This 240 p is hurting the eyes

  • BOEING>airbus

  • The English should be very proud of this. Everything else got sold off. Not here.

  • ON MY B-BAY

  • this is about plane engines not just the Boeing 787

  • jeez...I guess it's things like this that kind of throw a wrench into peoples stupid juvenile arguments about "why my country makes the better airplane"

oh well...I guess your country's manufacturing company engineered one of the most vital components and his country produces another vital component...both of which the airplane couldn't fly without...but my country still makes the best airplanes!

stuff it up your ass, shithead...

  • This documentary is very informative. I didn't think we could create mono-crystal components.

  • Thanks, really enjoyed it.

  • More like a Rolls Royce documentary.......still cool

  • Quite a bit of music from WALL-E used, here and there. I kind of wonder what the other music selections there were, though.

  • I was an intern at Rolls Royce for 6 months. Rolls Royce is a great company with great British innovation.

  • @pbzkfdt11 ok?

  • the 787 is very ugly shit.

  • @VOLXOM1 I presume you are blind?

  • @DerPilotMann i guess he is..

  • Yup, not 787 but big RR ad. Good upload anyway 1+ ! Thanks

  • Its more like RR Trent documentary, not B787, but anyway, good doc.!

  • porque no lo traducen al español

  • Thank you ever so much for sharing this video!

I work as a Supervisor Administrator for the ground handling at the airport and ever since I started I have the bug. Boeing 787 is my dream plane and RR engines are the best for me!

This Docu was just the best! Any tips maybe on other similar Docu's for me to watch?

Thank you once again for sharing!

  • ANA 787 DELIVERY CEREMONY (FULL VERSION)

    /watch?v=BFscb7lbKnk

  • WOW! You mean something is actually built in Britain??? How long before they are taxed heavily and decide to move? On a more serious note, the skill and engineering involved in astronomical and deserves a high quality documentary about them.

  • @16MattC Businesses of this ilk don't leave because of high taxation (in fact very few businesses leave because of high taxation in general). This kind of high-tech engineering, where every single unit produced has to work - as opposed to consumer electronics, where a certain amount of duds are factored in - would be very difficult to set up in the Far East. The only credible place to move to would be Germany, where taxes are higher anyway, and the USA, which already has 2 aero engine makers.

  • @turricaned What about Switzerland, low taxes and have a high skill level. It would be easy to set up there. The minimum wage is lower too so can save money.

  • @16MattC Not enough people with the right skills for starters (and a very high cost of living which makes the minimum wage argument moot). You shouldn't believe everything the conservative press says about taxes being bad, by the way, without tax revenue, you wouldn't have roads to transport the engines on or a decent level of healthcare for your workforce among other things.

The only people threatening moves to Switzerland are the bankers - frankly they can bugger off for all I care.

  • 6 people work at Pratt and Whitney

  • 6 people are scared of flying.

  • @keeyanwest1981 that wasn't just one fan blade, that was an entire ring of turbine blades, no fan case is built to withstand a whole ring plus other bits and bobs smash into it

  • 3:40 yeah righ let me start

  • yup what about the fan casing if QF32?

  • Rolls Royce lie. Check QF32

  • /watch?v=2fvRSTaL5zA

  • I would really like to see this in HD but besides that thanks for the upload !

  • i would call this video Proud Employees, Buy / Use Boeing you are supporting Secret Secret Secret +++ more Se***t S*c**t S***et and local musicians

  • anywhere i could get this in a better quality?

  • @lixbeyond Yes. Look for video called 'How to Build A Jumbo Jet Engine'.

  • @rb21122b Thanks :)

  • 23:30 So sickening!

  • Amazing man!!

  • @DillandShaj thanks

  • Boeing 787 Documentary Thanks For watching

  • @Chamath5 Um...yeah...this is a documentary of the Rolls Royce engine used for the Boeing 787...NOT the boeing 787 itself...
