tell that to the gov't ...cash for clunkers was one of the most destructive things to happen to good old used cars. They seized up the engines and destroyed them so no one could use any parts off of them. How screwed up is that???? And the metal went to CHINA.
@theartist53 When my old cars head gasket went for the third time, I phoned up a company that broke cars for spare parts, so that someone, somewhere could reuse bits from my old car. Surely that would be greener than just wreaking the engine and squashing what was left of it and sending over to China.
@theartist53 The gov't (not the republic, but the democracy we have now) seized up all of the engines in older cars so they could never be used again. The scrap went to China as a payment on the gazillions we owe them. Welcome to the oligarchy.
you stupid scrappers are killing the classic cars, all you see is a dollar when even tho these cars look dead theres still alot of good stuff left on them,
Actually these old cars were dumped like this to help hold the banks in place during flooding. They've become bizarre sculptures now and are homes to a multitude of species.
I found a 50 or 51 hudson hornet in a creek in franklin, north carolina. just like the one in the movie cars but ya know all smashed and shit .what a waste
By the way, outside Winslow, AZ. in the Little Colorado River the levee there also has cars in it when the levee let loose (around Bushman Acres). You will also find a 1965 Ford LTD (mine), which is visible take from my home, and others by the police and used to help shore up the levee. The cars were taken without permission by the police.
I have seen this a lot in west North Carolina too. Near Bryson City
