actually it doesn't cost hardly any money you just have to cut power and alternate current to different light on timing mechanisms. It just takes time.

YES it does in face cost a lot of money to do this! You have to buy a lighting controller such as lightoroma and connect everything to the control box. You then create the sequence using the software from the same company. A start up is over $400 dollars and once you start with the basic, you soon find yourself buying many more controllers and then you realize that your Holiday light show cost more then your new car! Speaking from experience here.
