I wouldn't encorage the kids to like heavy metal. I wouldn't let my kid watch this video for that reason. Heavy metal is the anti-thesis of disciplined, talented, and ever so controlled fighter pilots. Try something more like ...the end titles from Blade Runner by Vangellis, I think. Try Melrose by Tangerine Dream. There's LOTs of really good stuff out there. The one on your F-15 demo cockpit, is OK. Sandstorm is OK.

@JetMechMA Jet its well knownto F18 pilos that alot of ABCD models have the limiter switches/modules removed alot of first gen AB models never had any, thats why canada never upgraded to the C and Ds , the A's although 4000lbs less thrus had better maneuverability. This pilot flies like an instructor would, probably is one.

I would do 2 things to our F-18s if possible:

1)replace the big wing pylons by small pylons for AMRAAMs (like on the F-16).If such pylons don't already exist I am sure that Canada could make them. That would reduce drag significantly as well as reduce weight a bit.

2)increase the airframe to 9Gs for WVR fight with a wartime setting. The centerline tank could be dropped before getting in WVR to help for that. Lighter wing pylons could also help.

An F-18 with less drag and 9Gs would be excellent!

@Battery9876 great ideas except the 9g thing is impossible, the us tried this when developing the f18 originally, the only possible way is to make the fuselage airframe much bigger then a f18ef frame and strap some ge414 engines on them, unfortunately what makes the f18 a killer aircraft is its high drag rate,i wouldnt touch it at all.

Can an air to air loaded F-18 perform the same type of manoeuvers as in this video?

To get back to the 9Gs, I have read that the swiss F-18s have been strengthened and they have a wartime setting with 9G capability. They also have smaller wing pylons which increase the climb rate by 25%.

@Battery9876 the maneuvers you see are called "Loaded Rolls", you can perform these loaded out also, but its a little more nerve racking, I have seen my fair share of swiss f18s with my time in the service, not too mention I have all Lionel Charlets videos. The CF-18 has the same g limiter setting as the swiss, they can pull 9 gs if allowed, but the f18 at 7.5 gs is still plenty maneuverability to whoop some f16s or f15 ass. I flew cf18s for 8 years.

@MetaliCanuck i have never flown a fighter in real life would love to but the 9g thing i dont think u really need it for the type of relatively low speed maneuvers seen hear 250-300 kts by the time u hit your max G the energy (speed) starts to bleed of and so will the G correct me if i'm wrong
