I was in that line and I am one of the few that got hired from that complete clusterfuck, what most struck me in awe is that many people I got hired with had advanced masters degrees and many had made over 100k in previous jobs and this to them was a blessing. but Im young but what I learned is that when it comes down to it most people would rather work their ass off instead of accept a half assed-handout from the gov.

wow, I used to do quite a bit of engineering consulting at that plant when I was still in the tech industry for about 7 years. Surprised that it's still there. At least there's still some mfg going on with all the food plants in the valley unlike the Toyota/NUMMI plant that closed here in Fremont.

Now having worked in the Financial industry for the last 7 years, I've been trying to warn friends/family for the past 3 years that the economic shit storm is here. Good seeing others wake up now

@Paetaor No its going to get worse. 2011 is when the next shoe is dropping more escalation of foreclosures. Stimulus money is running out. No more cash for clunkers,no more 8000 dollar discount for new home buyers. millions of people are running out of unemployment benefits look up the 99ers. I am not talking about a basket ball team either. 22% unemployment and rising. Government is already laying off Postal workers, police department cutting staff. nurses get layoffs as well as teachers.

Thats pretty stupid for people to bother for a temp job when they can make almost same off unemployment benefits and sit at home. Those idiots will probably permanently lose their benefits once the job ends.
