@theflyingpen Well that depends on if you're making money off it or not. Proffesional sc2 players can make loads of money. For example by winning the largest tournament you get 100k dollars I believe, the GSL. And that's 4 times a year. Then there are a million smaller tournaments that give about 10k each and then you have sponsors and all that. An "average" pro will make about as much money as a normal citizen but the best can make hundreds of thousands.

I enjoy competing on a small scale and if i worked a bit i could get into a tourney but it makes no sense that there are fans of the players. I watch the game and go thats cool, or owned but people go screaming in joy watching others.  id rather play myself

@theflyingpen Well if you watch people outside korea they usually just clap when something really cool happens. It's just that starcraft is so huge there. People grow up with it. It's the same thing as why do people go wild over football (soccer). But also if you yourself is interested in playing proffesionally but are just a noob it can be very fun to watch the pros and learn some tricks from them. Starcraft isn't just a game you "stop playing after a month" for most people.

hey guys I need some help in starcraft. lately ive played zerg, but i used to play protoss. anyway I just cant beat a computer enemy. I spawn about 10 drones total for resources, have 1 or 2 on vespene, and the rest on mineral. so then I build a spawning pool, and build like a dozen zerglings and an overlord or two. then I build a hydralisk den. Then I build a few hydralisks. then my enemies send in 20 firebats and kill everything. I can't win. please help.

@localskateboarding when playing zerg against a computer, you must prepare for it accordingly. The attack isn't as fast as possible, but it's strong SO: build 2-3 spine crawlers, instead of all those hydras AND a few lurkers.

should be enough to hold everything. then the computer will leave you alone to expand - well go fuck him up with lurker/ling and don't forget you can harass the shit out of him with mutas.

the 2 spine +lurkers only work against a computer though, not vs player.
