Phil Taylor is the best sportsman the world has ever seen. I don't think you can find a man who has won so many world titles in any sports. He is a great ambassador of darts and he should be knighted and get the title "Sir" as Valhik88 says. The king of dart is Sir Phil Taylor.

does anyone know how the averages are calculated - is it the sum of all darts including the darts which don't need to be maximum e.g. doubles, singles - and this divided by 3 - or is it the average of the darts where the players need the maximum, e.g. 220 and more?

Its the average of all darts thrown in a game, divided by three (including those nine darts it took to get your 32 out). a 30 dart game is a 50 average (give or take), a 24 dart game is a 62 average (again, give or take), an 18 dart game is about an 84 average. 111 is amazing. he's averaging about 14 darts per game.

Sid Waddell is the commentator... He's awesome. He has fantastic one liners, like his call when Taylor was punishing Jamie Harvey with another 9-Darter in the 2008 UK open, Harvey was "struggling along like an ancient, tartan painted, Ford Cortina"... brilliant.

it's gold some of the things he says. I saw one where there was some Swiss guy and Sid says "It's fitting that the country that brought us William Tell should produce another arrow man of note". The commentary is half the experience.
