My Dad's favorite Jim Reeves song! Dad's birthday was December 25, so Christmas is especially sentimental for me. Dad's gone, but listening to this makes me feel closer to him and reminds me how grateful I am for having had him for 50 years. This song takes me back to my childhood days when my uncles would visit us for Christmas and one of them would cry like a baby whenever Jim Reeves is being played. Poor uncle Edgar. God rest his soul. He made me into a Jim Reeves fan - and this is my ultimate Xmas song! Love it!

I love this happy little song. I've been playing it often ever since I first heard it as a kid. I love most all the songs that Jim Reeves sang. I even attempt to sing a few of his songs. Jim recorded this song on October 15, 1959, at the same session he recorded his biggest hit, "He'll Have To Go". Initially, Jim and Chet Atkins were going to discard it as too much of a "novelty" song, but Mary Reeves loved it, so she kept the tape. The song was finally released in the winter of 1966-1967, and was avery big posthumous hit for Jim.
