I feel that way about rap music. It's not my thing but the best of the genre works for me. Most of it just annoys me, but I cannot get enough of Run DMC. Those guys were infallible.

GOOD rap is listenable. For one thing, I like being able to understand the words. Also, the beat's gotta grab me. It's fun when there's something familiar used in a novel way there in the mix.

You're right about the music though. I don't normally listen to classical or R&B, but it's fun to sit down and listen to some of that particular genre, but only if it's good. Other than that, generally rap, R&B, country and classical doesn't really suit my tastes.
