Robert Johnson wrote the original. Led Zeppelin used it as the basis for their version of Traveling Riverside Blues. Though it isn't really the same song at all so I don't really consider it to be a cover.

Robert Johnson was merely a stepping stone for the zep. All RJ songs were only shadows of what was to come. Zep. Then, zep came and went. Now they are gone. Now all we have is youtube. Oh, can I get a post on that?

You fail at life. Led Zeplin played this song as a tribute to Robert Johnson, in addition to structuring the song differently and inserting a few original riffs from Jimmy Page, Led Zeplin altered the lyrics to reflect Robert Johnson's musical career. These boys are covering the Zep version.

You have no idea if these kids are any better now, or if they were nervous on stage, etc. Many things can affect their performance, and as a Zep fan I'm sure you know how heroin affected Jimmy's. this was done my Robert Johnson i think, but definitely not Led Zeppelin. They did a cover of it. yeah needs more liveliness and singing for sure.

Robert Johnson wrote the original. Led Zeppelin used it as the basis for their version of Traveling Riverside Blues. Though it isn't really the same song at all so I don't really consider it to be a cover.

you guys did a good job at this, but since you're playing the zeppelin version of this song you have to have singing, the zeppelin version is nothing without the singing, it takes away the soul of the song...plus i want to hear someone sing the "squeeze my lemon" part...
