They are collecting payment three times, if the people pay off the bad loans, plus all the penalties.

Ok and what does that make them??? Their obviously not an Investment bank. So in the merger they were allowed to become commercial banks or become a part of commercial bank holding companies for access to the federal reserve borrowing windo so therefore, investment banks do not exist except for small boutique firms. So I believe that were essentially saying the same thing. I just didn't classify it as a merger.

@BigNeonGlitterGirl There are many conspiracy theories regarding this, the NWO for example. Ideally if a few rich and powerful people were in power for say generations because of wealth etc, then they do not flux like politics, but maintain influence.
Personally (disclaimer), I think these issues we are talking about are the underlying issues Americans are bickering about. To let the country fail and rebuild or to just suck it up and save this crappy system cause we have invested.

I think if people knew the specifics they would be outraged, ie how the government is intentionally deregulating to allow companies to pollute or bet against their customers, then forcing the public to cover the externalities.
Even one party directly stands for deregulation and economic liberalism. People are to invested and entrenched into the system and have not been pushed yet.

@BigNeonGlitterGirl Some thought these ideas were some of the intentions of lack of action or possible head turning to allow 9/11. I don't know what I believe as I do not have objective evidence. I can not believe the government or "evidence" put out by unknown sources with unknown validity.
However, 9/11 allowed us to invade Iraq and displace a political and economic system that was interferring with oil field purchases. Sadam wanted to nationalize oil, in 9/08 big 4 got oil contracts there.

really, cause last I checked it was a huge influx of Chinese investment money that made the demand for housing artificially high, encouraging huge predatory investment loans by these evil financial institutions. Have you been to China? The very air is poisoned with the greed of the government there. If you think that America has problems, you just wait and see. Goldman Sachs' pales in comparison to the horrible atrocities that have been perpetrated by the PRC. I don't think I need to mention Taiwan, Tibet or Xin Jiang. In essence the PRC IS Goldman Sachs. You are disillusioned if you really believe that the central bank in China has any kind of transparency at all. That has been one of the major issues in China's struggle for acceptance by the international community. And I'm not defending the fed, by any means.
