It really depends on your budget and needs. Name a few bands you like.

budget is not a problem. I like metallica, megadeth, children of bodom, machine head, amon amarth, savatage, anthrax, nuclear assault, slayer, annihilator, death angel, exodus, bonded by blood, kreator, pantera, sacred reich etc. :D

Sounds like you'd be better off with a 6505+. The difference between that and a Triamp could be spent on an Engl Power, if you're so inclined :)

the powerball has only 2 channels which is a bit to less espeecially for me...and peavey has too much gain xD i'd say the triamp is just the best amp you can get for any style of music!!!!

and if U miss some gain buy a pickupbooster but you won't need listen the guy plays arch enemy with it and it sounds perfect in my opinion

which amp has more gain? Powerball or 6505+? I played today the triamp, and I wasn't satisfied with the distortion sound. It's to rock sounding. Not good enough for metal I think.

That's ok, not everyone likes Triamp for metal. I know Killswitch Engage and Breaking Benjamin used it though.

Both Powerball and 6505+ have more gain than you'll ever need.

you should definately check out a framus cobra and engl powerball those have huge gain and huge attack tone i prefer the cobra which is what i have right now. the clean is amazing as well one of the best. killswitch engage and august bruns red(august burns red currently uses framus cobras) have used them and misery signals. killswitch recorded my curse with a framus cobra. dont get the 6505

Funny you said that. I bought the Cobra 1 month after I uploaded this video. It just looks too good with the lava glow, haha. Together they (Triamp and Cobra) are just sick.

@HeavyThrashGuitar if you've ever heard of Vanna, their lead guitarist plays a MKII with an Orange 4x12 cab, the night i saw them his pedalboard wasn't working so he plugged straight in to the amp, much better in my opinion.

I do play out pretty often. But yeah, I collect guitar stuff. You should see my current setup, I have four tube amps (including Framus, ENGL, Blackstar) and about ten boutique overdrive pedals :) Guess I qualify as a collector ;)

Nice video. I have the MK1 Triamp running through a Mesa 2x12 cab. I bought the amp new maybe 10 years ago and never swapped it because nothing i have played comes close. One of the best amps ever made in my opinion. Build quality of H&K is just bomb proof. Anyway thanks for posting and keep rocking.

Presense is like a high mid frequency control. It makes your guitar sound more, well, "present", as in standing out.

H&K has designed a presence control that works differently with each "amp" in the Triamp.

Thanks. I forgot the settings, I think it was channel 3B with treble 1 o'clock, mid 11o'clock and bass 11 o'clock, presence 10 o'clock.

One thing I've noticed is that the EQs doesnt completely change how the amp sound, it just adds/removes freqs very subtlety.
