I used to be a transient of Dumagute for a long time orginally from a town far north.Part of this was studying @SU and hanging around Dgte . But I've never seen anything like this in all those times I had @Dgte .I'm living permanently abroad now and coming back almost every yr .My first experience of Dgte flooding was during last July2011 vacation , it was unpleasant .Since Dgte is exposed to floods then this is impt factor to consider for people moving to Dgte finding places to live.

Dumaguete isn't all Roman Catholic ,there are many born again christians and pure Bible believing Christians in Dumaguete and around.God would not allow his people to be destroyed.The big disaster of CDO is a warning .

@Indaydipag, ayaw sab ug ka panic .It's not entire Dumaguete , ang destruction were only on areas following Ocoy river and the Banica ,mga squatters area na apiktuhan and surges of flood on residential areas.Fatalities were less .They should have learned a lesson on previous floods .Also the local government should have specific plans to relocate squatters off these exposed areas .When would this happen?

I grow up in Dumaguete City and lived in Piapi almost boundary of Bantayan till we migrated here in the US. I went to college in Foundation University. Ang Banica river was behind FU.During the 70's bisan ug unsa ka kusog ang bagyo it never overflows like this. Never during that time nga nagrabehan ang Dumaguete sa bagyo. makaluoy intawon ang nahitabo sa Dumaguete. God Bles Dumaguete Cty.
