30 seconds of a "new" song from Änglagård is better than none - thanks! But I would pay $50 for the NEARfest concert CD (what a great show!). I can't say that about very many bands' work.
Hey thanks...! I havent heard the "tapes" is a long while...It just feels weird putting out two studio albums and then two live ones...? But thanks for the support...
Thanks for the reply, Mattias. I'm just glad to hear that the band is still considering making new music, or something. You all know of course how special your music is to so many fans.
Well see what happens. Jonas and Johan are meeting every week. I am as you know very active but to me there is a real hazard in letting things take too long. Time adds pressure.
@RothHandle: How about releasing at least the 2 new songs as "sexy extras" on some future re-release of one of your studio albums? I just paid $30 for Epilog, just for the 3:30 minutes that I don't already have on CD. I would gladly pay twice that for 2 full tracks I don't have in my possession.
I cannot begin to tell you how these (relative) youngsters have influenced me. After loving their music enough to coax me out to see them in New Jersey, I have re-dedicated myself to music. I was too young to catch the original prog scene (King Crimson, Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant, etc.), but these guys can be safely placed amongst such greats.
Wow...Thank you for your kind woirds. I am really glad that we got you back into music. It looks like the band might come together again...but we'll have to see. Änglagård is a very confused and slow moving operation (not a good combo) but occasionally very inspired.
There is some new material floating around as well as the two new songs from the reunion...but we'll have to wait and see...there are schedules to look out, coffee to be reheated and Mellotrons to tune...It usually takes a while.
I would have loved to see Änglagård live. If you read my comment, can you tell if the repressing thing has evolved a bit ? I don't own Hybris & Epilog, but i'd really like to...
Thanks so much to RothHandle, percussionist extraordinaire for posting these video snippets. And I must respectfully disagree: a record of those last performances of Anglagard should be released. And now with a petition of more than 800 signatures, some from all over the world- & some pledging to pre-order and/or sponsor the release with donations, there is clearly a mandate. And that includes people like the great artist Roger Dean! http://www.petitiononline.com/anglagar/petition.html
There are apparently discussions going on. But as I have said before...Änglagård is a snail on valium. We are still trying to decide if we should do a repressing of the first two studio albums...We have been discussing that for almost 1 ½ years.
I haven't really heard the live thing but as I recall there were some shuffly parts in there...Maybe it should be kept as one of those " I was there " non released albums...
¡Anglagard tiene que regresar a la escena progresiva! ¡queremos verlos!

I missed the news. I went to Anglagards site and it seems that the band is working on some possible stuff together again...
That's real great news!

You know what I love about this band?
They are the BEST INSTRUMENTAL PROG band ever!
You know what I hate about this band! THEY ARE FUCKING TEASING US!
For god sake why can't they get serious, get their asses together and release some new material?
Damn!
I just needed to let it out a little...

Fantastic - probably my only chance to see the band in a live
context - although my own band has a dormancy period even
longer than this one - hold hope. I'm sure this will see the light
of day eventually.
