Halo Wars is a good RTS.... for console buuut compared to an old fashioned PC RTS it isn't on par.  But if you just want a game for console then Halo Wars delivers

It's worth the purchase.

Just simply getting the taste of it from the demo, I'm really hankering for this game. I'd recommend this game to you. This RTS is actually really good, in my opinion.

Everyone who says this game sucks are morons who just want more mindless shooters like Halo 2. If Halo Wars is hard AT ALL, it's because you haven't played an RTS before, as most (Roughly 80%) of console gamers have never touched an RTS. I was at a friend's house when he got the demo, and after the tutorial, he found an enemy and put his cursor over it, and asked me "How do I kill him?"

After about 20 minutes of explaining, he still couldn't grasp that he couldn't just shoot him.

If you love RTS games how can you say Halo Wars sucks. Even if you didn't like it you have to like what it stands for. Is the first huge RTS game out for the console (bigger than C&C). This game is a break through because now more and more developers will start making their big RTS games for consoles like Dawn of War 2 and Men of War.
