You make stupid judgements without any merit at all. First, you generalize that ALL national team players are egocentric and are full of themselves. Just because their high level players doesn't mean they have a high level of ego. Second, who ever said that national team members consider themselves as masters of Taekwondo? Third, just because gyoorogi players choose not to compete in poomsae doesn't mean their not "good" at it.
Don't judge people just by what you see on Youtube..its pathetic
Here's what bothers me about these national team players, they're good and only good at sparring. So if or when they win a couple of big time championships they consider themselves masters of Taekwondo. You don't just specialize in only one thing and say your a master, you have to be well-rounded in the art to say that.
@eugene680 Who are you to judge all the national team players? I've known quite a bit of national team / collegiate players and most of them are very humble. I do agree that a few, not all of them, are egocentric but that's just a handful of Taekwondo players. Also, most taekwondo sparring players choose to only specialize in sparring because combining poomsae and gyoorogi are very different things and can mess with your form/ kicks.
If they specialize only in sparring, are they a master of the art? You don't just master a couple of kicks in sparring and consider yourself a master of a system. You have to be well rounded to be a master.
