Incredibly risky choice by McCain. If he's trying to shore up the female vote - most of them were Hillary supporters and Palin doesn't support ANYTHING that Clinton supports.

If he's trying to shore up the Independent vote, it may work for some who were looking for an ultra conservative on the ticket, but also may turn off some who are more moderate.

In any case, she's not going to do much from an electoral votes standpoint - Alaska has 3 electoral votes.
