damn tio its ur birthday 2day & u aint even here no more 2 spend it with us i just wish i could hear u sing 2 me just one more time like u use 2 wen i was a kid i miss u so much & love u with all my heart
Great tune. what is the release date of this song. You mention 1957, however Rudy and the Cruisers I think came on the scene in 1979 or so. Would appreciate your posting the release date, as I have not been able to find it. Thanks. By the way this is a really great tune and the back up singer has a fantastic voice.
@Felwil04 i got a hold of my tio sonny & i gave him your number you will be hearing from him soon my family has been looking for you since my tio rudy passed away & it is good to know that you & my family are back in contact i cant wait to meet you
These are my vocals, my name is Felicitas original singer of Rudy and the cruisers. And you are right this is the original song. I just found out Rudy died Jan 23, 2010. Does anyone know where Sunny, his brother is?
@Felwil04 if you are on the original recording then you can clear this up for us. what year is the original Cruising Baby .I dont think it was in the 50's because the lyrics say about fliping a switch to hop the car & that was not popular till the 70's & I thought I remember the 2nd version around 1980 or 81
Great doowop tune---West-coast style--first time I hear it and I really like it. The saxophone bridge is fantastic....excellent back up voice....great all around song.
In 1957 I was a junior in high school but never heard that song at that time, it must have been regional in nature---in my opinion it should have gone nation-wide. Thanks for posting it.
I have heard the other version of this song. But this is the first time I have heard this one. I Love this one it sounds more original. Thanks for posting it.
This is one of my all-time favourites. I have this song on CD "Rarest of The Rare Vol. 9", there are fantastic songs by Montereys, Bobolinks, Veltones and many others.

We recorded 1981 and I had a blast. I'm looking forward to my daughter Nikki Diaz being able to re do it with maybe Dave Salas.
