  • This track is wonderful...she also did a smooth, atmospheric song called "Night Club" which got played alot on UK jazz stations.

  • This is my first time listening to Ms Ethel Ennis. And I vision her doing title songs for movies. Words I can not describe her, All I know is that I see visions when she sings.

  • She's sounds great; even though I never heard of her. What a beautiful song. Give me this instead of all that filthy rap that's out toda.

  • One of the best songs ever done! PURE!

  • too true my friend

  • Thank you very much for the lyrics! You made me happy! So I can sing it for me. :)

Have a merry Christmas dear jrrylpz!

  • Dear friends, could one of you be so kind and write me the lyrics of this titel? I don't speak English so well - I am a German. Thank you very much! Best regards from Rita

  • The moon was yellow and the night was young

A smile brought us together, a

    And I was wond'ring whether

    We'd meet again some day.

The moon was yellow and a song was sung,

That vocal inspiration gave me the inclination

    To give my heart away!

  • Her we are. Is our romance to continue?

Will it be my luck to win you?

    May I look that far?

Ah! My love is mellow and my hopes are strung,

    Around that cupid fellow,

    Behold! The moon is yellow,

    And the night is young

  • I've never heard of her until this past weekend istening to one of the Music Choice channels. "The Moon is Yellow" is what she sang. I'm totally hooked now. Great song and perfect voice for that kind of music...which I cannot find anywhere. Love that lizard lounge kind of music!

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm a huge fan of hers!

  • I can listen to her all day....

  • Wonderful singer. Such a beautiful tone.

  • All I can say is . . . brother, you got

    GREAT taste in female vocalists.

  • Lovely, classy singer. "Poker" have this out on Cd in the U.K. at the moment.

  • glad someone else knows of her. I think I have this cassette. nice voice!

  • Hi - Thanks for the comment... she's great... needs more recognition though.

  • I agree, she never achieved quite

the level of recognition of say Carmen

McRae, Sarah Vaughan or Ella . . . yet

her ability certainly matches theirs . . . to bad. Of course, it didn't help her career to refuse to perform outside of Baltimore, either.
