@586ahsan I know, it’s corny and schmaltzy but so, so, so delicious…being head over heels over a boy who doesn’t even know your name won’t kill you, it just feels like it will. Let your heart be broken some day, and you’ll know exactly what she’s talking about.
Like the father in "Moonstruck," whenever I'm a bit down, I play this song over and over. What a wonderful tune and a wondeful voice. Thanks for the download.
TIENE UNA IMPOSTACION DE LA VOZ INIGUALABLE....GRANDIOSA......EL AMOR SE CONVIERTE EN UNA ODISEA PRECIOSA DE VIVIR............PURA POESIA ESPAÑOLA...............ES LA CONJUNCION CULTURAL DE TODA NUESTRA CULTURA MEDITERRANEA..........CON MAS DE 5 MIL AÑOS DE ANTIGUEDAD........VIVA VIKKI CARR
This is an all-time classic! From the very first time anyone, with a sensitive bone in their body, heard it, they've loved it. I can't think of many tunes that have such a nostalgic feel of the early 1960's that this song has. It's absolutely priceless but, oh, what a hard act to follow for Vikki Carr!
I love this song, but have to chuckle becuase of the scene in the movie 'Moonstruck' when Olympia Dukakis complains to Cher about her husband played by Vincent Gardenia, " Now he's going to play that damn Vicki Carr song, and then come to bed and won't touch me."
Today, with caller ID, this would not be an issue. Great track. I have always liked the drumming.Written by Gilbert Becaud as "Seul sul son Etoile". Mack David wrote the English lyric. Thank you for this posting.
What a memory. I saw her perform this life on the Johnny Carson show. Sad when I think of all that has changed. It's such a realistic song and she sings it with such feelings, so powerfully.
You know, back then, people could actually sing. It's a wonderful topic for a song, and it really tugs at the heartstrings. She puts such emotion into the song. ^^
@jlya2012 ... what's bullshit is the almost obliteration of morality in America due in part by the lack of defined roles in our society. Back then, the times were so much better than the crap we have now. Men were men, women were women and this androgenous shit was nowhere to be seen.
Vikki tells it like it really is waiting on that special man to call. This song comes from the depth of her soul. Elvis heard this song and called her for a date.
CODA is an acronym for Co-Dependents Anonymous - a 12-step group created for the purpose of helping co-dependent personalities get over their psychological problem.
This song demonstrates extreme co-dependent behavior: a desperate person who seemingly cannot live without attention and approval from "him". Of course it can occur in any gender identity and between all sorts of partners.
this is one of the strongest love songes ever..in one line with "the look of love". and one of the best voices of the 60ies..... a pitty that vicky does not sing anymore.. or does she? if so it passed my memorie ...
Does anyone hav the song Her Little Heart Went to Loveland?????????? I'm doing an art project on her and i think that song name is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! plz send me the video if u do lol!!!!!
I remember watching a Ciff Richard SHOW IN THE EARLY 60'S. Vikki Carr was the guest appearance and she broke down singing this, I was about 5 or 6 or even younger and I NEVER FORGOT HER OR THE SONG. Childhood memories eh!
Glad I grew up in that era though, times were so simple and then we had the Great Seventies.
What a great song and she sings it beautifully. The arrangement does sound very Petula Clark-esque. The songs from the 60's and 70's were the best.
