  • great performance

  • The reactions were spot on. That was excellent.

  • @ayeayefast Agreed!

  • wow... pretty damn good. Better than anything I can do by far.

  • this is amazing!

  • Greatest stage combat ever!!

  • This is so freaking fantastic. You guys rock!! I can't wait to study this in college.

  • really great job. It was very believable and it also had a twinge of comedy (the beginning) in it.

  • Epic.

  • That was freakin awesome!!!!!! I totally wanna take a class like this, but idk where and how old you have to be... Any ideas?

  • @secretsantababe11 Look at SAFD.ORG. That is the website for the Society of American Fight Directors. Many college theater departments have some type of stage combat class, but you can also look at private classes and regional workshops. If you are thinking of getting into Acting, it is really important that you learn at least as little of this to keep yourself safe in any show.

  • @Dannik001: I'll be honest...I don't know what kind of kick that was. Angle is key though. You have to make sure you're directly in front of your "victim" but your foot is always at least a whole foot away so you don't land any shots. : ) Thanks for the comment.

  • seriously, wicked knaps. if the title wasn't stage combat i really wouldve though you guys were beating the shit out of each other.

  • @zazachica Thanks yo. Check out some of my rap videos under the YouTube name JC2ed. I would appreciate it ; )

  • that was really good!!!!! :D

  • damn sonn.

  • damn that was epic

  • OMG this was soooooo good! and so good to study from xD you guys are epic

  • the kick at around 1:36 was really cool

  • really good

  • yey for crotch kicks. and thoughs last three kicks were really well executed.

  • this is fake rite?

  • @kristenruckel no haqve a looki at stage combat clips

  • If you all care to see something other than stage combat, I am also a musician as well as an actor. Last Thanksgiving I produced my own funny rap music video called Turkey Killer. It has gotten some nice response so far and I wish for it to get more popular. If you care to check it out, please do. I promise it will at least give you a good laugh for the day. YouTube: Turkey Killer. It's the top video by Zubris (My rapper name) Have a great day.

  • I want to sincerely thank everyone who watches this video. We really appreciate it as we didn't realize all the amazing comments we're getting, so thank you. Demonccm2 all the sounds are called knaps and they are produced different ways depending on the type of 'hit' you are supposed to be receiving as getting kicked in real life would sound different than getting punched. A majority of the sounds are produced by either clapping hands together, or slapping your own body to produce a sound.

  • Just curious, how exactly do they make the proper sounds?

  • @Demonccm2 banging there chests with fists things like that

  • @Demonccm2 There's certain techniques to do them, When he slapped him, they could be slapping there hands against each others, or the person being slapped could slap his own hand. Punching, by punching his palm of his hand and the kicks by hitting the face of his shoe against the other guys hand.

  • pretty good, looks like they are really hitting each other

  • that was viscous

  • that was viscous

  • LOVE IT!

  • Could you guys do a tutorial or something? Your ability to hide your knaps are AWESOME! As a fellow actor, it would really help to get some pointers! Thanks !

  • Insane That Well Good

  • Awesome fight! Nice work.

  • Seriously. Legend.

  • Fantastic Knaps!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much. I really need to find a place in NYC to improve my skills.

  • What are you talking about? Your skills are amazing! I want to study in this but i'm only 13. Me and my friend do Stage Combat out in the street and we've had people pull over a few times. Stage Combat is extremely fun!

  • fucking hell i couldnt even see the knaps !

    awesome peice of work guys

  • at 1:02 he fell wrong. You could hurt yourself like that. I have a professional teaching me for a show, and you have to roll down on the side of your spine. you could get parailzed if you dont. hmm.....

  • I believe there are many correct ways to fall. His fall was completly safe. The loud thud you heard was a nap produced by his hands. He landed on a large muscle mass (his butt)

  • No he didn't fall incorrectly. He performed a standard backwards fall. One can choose to land either on the outer thigh or on the butt. Everyone teaches stage combat a little differently

  • He LOWERED himself to the floor. It was totally safe.

  • Basic judo breakfalls. Very effective, not what he did here though. Also make a lot of noise.

  • dude nicely done.

  • the first time i watched this i was like holy shit..they were really hittin each other..lol...the hit at 2:07 is beautiful..the groin kick stumped me for a long time..lol..i am gonna take an unarmed stage combat class this summer and i hope it teaches similar techniques..and i hope that i can be half as good as you guys. GREAT JOB!

  • how did you hide the knaps? after watching the video i cannot find the knaps. as a fellow actor, it would be very beneficial to me if you could tell me how you hid the knaps, especially the ones at the beginning

  • nice use of angles, to make the hits look on target. reminds me a tad bit of the scene in the film They Live.

  • THAT is some stage combat. Is this advanced unarmed?! Wow.

  • wow nice, i luv acting too :)

  • OUCH!! this made me hurt!! lol

  • i have to do this in an upcoming performance, though hopefully not to this extent. you never know with my director.

but this was very well done. amazing, in fact. =]

  • I really think that's one of the best unarmed stage fights I've ever seen. And GREAT work on masking the naps, it all looked and sounded really authentic! Well done. :)

  • Thank You very much for your comments. I'm going to NYC in January. I hope this will come in handy.

  • this is the most amazing fight i have ever seen!

    Its so good!

but i'm more of a quarterstaff girl myself =)

  • Wow. WELL DONE. like, actually. that was amazing

  • Nice! Just started to get into stage combat, having completed BADC lvl 1. This fight had great intention, the reactions worked really well for most of it. My only criticism would be that the double head-kick at 1:46 didn't quite work, victim looks too much in control of the whole thing. Other than that I really like this fight all round. Good work guys.

  • PS check out my video of my stage combat wit my friends!! :) its awesome!!*(in a way)

  • lol he has like no hair to pull!! BUT AWESOME!! im taking theter school and im really into this wit my friend shelby(stage combat)

  • which school?

  • ECU (East Carolina University: Located in Greenville North Carolina)

  • wow man this is what am talking about this is art!!, o and forget the video u saw at my pg lol some ass put it there, am gonna start putting real ones soon

  • this was really awesome guys

  • WOW! I have NO IDEA how you guys pulled that off!...one day I will though ;)

    AWESOME JOB!!!

    BOTH OF YOU!!!

  • Wow. Very impressive. The body shots were incredible, and I have to agree... The knap masking was top-notch.

  • nice very nice im impressed

  • Oh wow. This was very nice. At 1:46 I could sort of see the knaps. But I was paying really close attention. Othe than that, amazing job!!

  • GBTS Stage Combat - Movie Fight "Leathal Weapon"

GBTS Stage Combat - Movie Fight "The Matrix"

GBTS Stage Combat - Movie Fight "Daredevil"

GBTS Stage Combat - Movie Fight "Total Recall'

GBTS Stage Combat - 15 moves

  • Good job on the naps, but top notch on actually 'selling' the hits. My only comment would be a bit of delay before the two kicks to the face.

I agree that fight you commented on wasn't solid (i'm surprised that it's received so many views). We're a 3 year classical theatre conservatory in Toronto. The videos I have posted are the 1st years work throughout the year. Here's links to some of the better fights. Let me know what you think! Any feedback would be most appreciated.

  • guys, those final three head kicks are pure magic!!

    hope you got good marks!!

    xo

  • Okay, is the napping done offstage or something? I've watched it a dozen times now and can't find ONE spot where the napping is visible. Am I completely missing something?

  • We did all the naps ourselves, so I guess we did it right if you can't see them. Thanks for all the nice comments.

  • who r u? r u one of the guys?

  • I'm the guy in black

  • Awesome! Quality stuff fellow phesbians!

  • That was some of the best knap masking I have seen in a long time, your techer should be proud!

  • AMAZING FIGHT! Everything sold, intention was amazing, the kicks were fantastic! Where exactly is ECU?

  • i like this...whole lot better fight than mine!

and probably a better reason. and yes wonderful naps

    (check out my video ; ) )

  • Wow. That was awesome! And I agree, nice naps.

  • nice naps! and the sell on the cock shot is amazing! wait... all the sells for the guy in black are amazing!
