I saw it on the Movie Network on a lazy Sunday. The cast is amazing. The story is amazing. Joel Lok, the actor who played the young Tom, was sooo good. The movie moved me. I hope to see more of such films and not stupid mega movies made out of special effects. I am going to read the book based on the film as well for my two week vacations this December.
This is an excellent modern Chinese movie. The title song was originally sung by Lin Dai. Many other versions by Tsai Chin and Teresa Teng (or Deng). The song is quite appropriate for the movie script. Both very well done, indeed. ENJOY!
This is officially one of my favourite movies. It's so simple yet is able to evoke so much emotion in the viewers. The cast worked so well together. Especially the kid actor! Perfect!
man i swear australians dont even have those accents in real life ive been living there for ages and ive never heard n e one lyk that except in the movies!!
I just saw this movie tonight at Dendy in Sydney. Tony Ayres was there with Joel Lok. This has to be one of the best movies I have ever seen. And right at the end I was so close to bursting out in tears, I had to hold back (i mean really hold back) otherwise my mates would have a go at me. Its good to see a movie like this that is made in Australia, it has heart and soul. And it's a movie I will go back and see again.
I have only a question, if Home Song sotries could get an Oscar nomination to the fabulous Joan Chen? Well we know the film was the foreign entry to Oscars last year, but it was release at US that year... And I heard great reviews to Joan Chen's performance so, like other foreign films, could had a chance
Me too. I'm going to watch this movie too. Joan Chen, as usual, will be at her very best. One of the best Asian character actresses from Hollywood. This will be the third Chinese-English film since The Man From Hong Kong (1975) and Floating Life (1996), and thanks to everybody who supported this film.
