You skipped a major part and your not putting enough into it. The octaves played at 0:55 are not in legato, I feel no connection. You skipped a few notes and the trial at 1:05 is incomplete, the notes doesn't sound symmetrical - you should practise it reeeeally slow if you want to perfect it.
I really like the way you organized this piece, you made it a lot easier than it really is and it still sounds simular! And don't listen to those bad responces, if they can't injoy this, I would like to hear what they can play, i bet 99% can't even back their word up. keep playing!
The triads beginning in 1:50, you should really do with at least two fingers if you want to reach greater speed (like 2-3-2 ...), you won't be able to play it fast with just one finger tapping up and down that same note.
Its not his own interpretation. It's his limit. He can't play faster even if he wanted to.
You know what an interpreation means? You interpret it the way you think the composer thought it was meant to sound like, not make your own complete composition out it. If Fransz Liszt says that part should've been played lively than that's how you play it. Ofcourse there will be slight alterations in speed, but never THIS slow.
I admire your effort but your technique is horribly wrong. At 2:02 you should be hitting that constant C# with your 1,2 and 1 finger. Not just your thumb
@OrigamiPaper :- Not necessarily, as long as the performer finds that easier and comfortable to play like that (and the music still sounds good) than it's perfectly okay. Technique isn't finger positions, technique is hand and arm movement, fingering is how one may find a piece more comfortable to play. just watch 3 different versions of the same piece, and note the differece in fingering, yet they all sound good.
Nice try but no. If you practiced the piece you would know that part isn't supposed to be played like that. The speed at which the song was meant to play can never be attained with that technique. The you can only hit that C fast and make the octaves by switching from thumb to index finger and back to thumb.
Ofcourse there is some truth in your post and for a lot of parts its true what you say, but not in this part of this song.
@OrigamiPaper - I have practised the Piece. I can play the entire Lassan and part of the Friska. I completely see where you're coming from, but if this Pianist finds this comfortable than that's fine. But I totally see where you're coming from :) I play the bit the way you described. I do agree with what you're saying.
The same constant C# starts from 1:45 where you also need to change fingers or else you can never hit it rapidly with your same finger. It is possible but you would strain and damage your muscles thus not the way to play it.
i think you make your life unnecessarily hard when you play in the f sharp minor part, starting ca at 1:45, the csharps all with one finger... try alternating fingers, so you can really drive up the tempo how its supposed to be... beside that nice performance, id like to see the complete rhapsody ;)
Dude I said this two years ago when I first saw this and I'll say it now. This is awesome. I spend about two hours today and got the first two pages of the18 in the piece...and damn it takes major practice
or he can read the partiture and try to express what the original composer wants to show and not just only listen to some famous interpreter.
The style in performances are what make us unique. Please dont encourage to imitate the interpreter, never the less, encourage to interpret the composer.
What gijondani said was " I think you're very brave to touch this piece of Liszt, but rather have you interpreted in a strange way of listening. I do not think this is the best I've heard so much and killed the piece Velica ... Pity, but it is my opinion."
Pienso que eres muy valiente al tocar tal pieza de Liszt, es más, la has interpretado de un modo extraño de escuchar. No creo que esta sea la mejor que he escuchado y tanta velicidad mata la pieza... Lástima, pero es mi opinión.
You skipped the best part of the whole composition , which is right in the middle like at 5 min...... its well played but at the last 4:45-4:50 i think , it was totally off tempo not even close I would work on that :) overall you scored 8/10 thats a Low A high B and I think thats awesome for such a hard composition.
It feels good you plays this song 'cause I'm a Hungarian. You're such a great talent, but I'm sure you know that, so I don't want to kiss your ... Keep up and make more more and more videos
