I didn't really like this version... There was an entire key change missed which was an important part of the build up of the song. Vocally he was alright but there was no emotional attachment at all. He was just singing the notes and words. Maybe if he tried it again with the section put back in and without music it would be fantastic but for now... 2 thumbs down..
@zacplatt Agreed - I don't understand why that key change is missing; the song song sounds clumsy without it. When it's there, the whole song surges forward in a joyous burst of emotion. Not a really successful version here.
I want to like Noah here - I've found him endearing in his other work (selling piraguas, anyone?) - but this is ruined for me by his glancing down at the music every 3 seconds. It means that he can't act the song, just sing the words and notes, and there's so much emotion and yearning in the music & lyrics that he's not tapping into. I wish he'd properly learnt the song before performing it in public, because I think he's talented enough that he could've done better.
