  • Nice brow......swag

  • I lived in the UK from '94-'03. When came across you on YouTube I remember having seen you on TV there, but couldn't remember which show(s)! It's driving me crazy. Which ones did you host? I absolutely love this channel, by the way.

  • @ohshagoofa So glad you're on the fume train with me. I hosted a bunch of UK shows, the main ones were The Word, The Sunday Show and Pyjama Party.

  • You look REALLY good in this vid

  • lovely smells great! i dont think a man (a straight one at least) would like to smell like this though,i would though!

  • You should be a television personality. With that narration ability and wonderful voice/presence, I can see you hosting some show. :)

  • @shangrila628 Nice to hear - because I am TV host! I hosted a bunch of shows in the UK in the 90s, and more recently in the US on Oxygen.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells really what show on oxygen? i smell too!

    lol

  • @xxjuanramirez1xx "Pajama Party" and "Who Needs Hollywood?"

  • My signature scent! Gorgeous!

  • @CocoaPinkUk It's fab.

  • most of all, does it last long?

  • @comaneci1 Yes, wonderful tenacity and development.

  • what up with the eyebrow?

  • @dagonfeathers What's up is that I was scarred by a rosebush thorn when I was three.

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells Ahh, scarred by a rosebush at a young age, and a lifelong obsession with scent thereafter.... Somehow poetic! :-)

  • @ZeY00T00b Marked by my obsession at a young age...

  • No way katie, hahaha but atleast i will try it in my skin coz you said it smells good for a man..hahaha

  • You would be good at narrating Childrens books lol.

  • your'e funny

  • @meohmy217 Thanks!

  • This smells like a pine tree lumberjack. It is totally for a dude. It is not lovely. It is burley. They are not selling it at Walgreens anymore, because it is not selling. I bought it on sale. It smells like pine sol and licorice. I don't hate it, but I would never wear it anywhere. It also smells like menthol . It smells like a combo between eating licorice that has soaked in pine sol and stealing a smoke from your mom who smokes kools.

  • @shannkaray I love your comment! I don't smell anything you're smelling, but I love how vividly you've described it. Good one!

  • @shannkaray Wow! i wanted to check this fragrance out now im scared. The image of the burley lumberjack and smoking kools while eating pine sol licorice makes me think of mountain men and the 6th sense( where the lady was slipping pine sol in the little girls food) makes it impossible for me to try it!

  • @kaziqbal Ha!

  • Katie please review Sarah Jessica Parker"s Covet.

I saw the commercial, I am so intrigued. Sarah is cool, Lovely was an AMAZING first attempt at a fragrance and by a celebrity no less..... I wonder what Covet is like.

  • Katie please review Sarah Jessica Parker"s Covet.

  • She's still gorgeous!

  • One of my signature scents. Recently have discovered Philosophy Inner Grace to be VERY similar

  • I'm in the Middle of Reading The Perfect Scent; I already own Un Jardin Sur Le Nil and now I want to try Lovely. The Paperback came with a little scent strip on a bookmark - it only has the base notes, woody musky, but they are very nice.

  • @KristaJanicki I learned so much about the perfume industry by reading The Perfect Scent. Chandler Burr had such great access, and provides fascinating insights.

  • I also love this parfume. ^^

  • This is one of the few fragrances marketed to women that I have owned. I enjoyed your review, Katie.

  • @jedennard So glad, thanks!

  • I love your apt descriptions!!!

  • Katie,

I'm really enjoying learning about perfumes. Because of you, I have become interested the way perfumes are made. I feel like I've got an educated nose!

    Anne

  • @Sevipants19 That's very nice to hear!

  • I have Lovely and NC for her. They do smell a little similar but not enough to have just one Of then. Well, i spilled some White Shoulders on my hand before i sprayed for a comparison test. So it could be that they both dmelled like WShoulders.

Some time ago i wanted to buy WS n my sister said, you aré NOT going to buy that!!! Its for old ladies!!

Less than 30 seconds later an elderly woman walked by and said, oh I love that perfume! It's my favorite! Hehe

  • @Sevipants19 Funny story!

  • Smells to peppery for me, yuck!

  • I think I'll have to try it out! Now that you mentioned it, it could definitly fit me!

  • Sarah Jessica Parker and party had a new feeling during their stay in Abu Dhabi for second part of Sex And The City

  • heyy i really like this purfume kate,im really loving ghost it smells define x

  • What do you think about the Kate Moss perfumes? Do you think she also didn't have anything to do with them ;-)? Oh and could you maybe do a review on Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel and Style by Jil Sander? That would be great! LOVE your reviews!

  • @inna6373 I like the very first one, "Kate". I like that rose and patchouli together. I'd wager a guess that like most celebs who release scents (aside from Sarah Jessica Parker, who's very hands-on), they show up to sign the contract, and maybe sniff an iteration or two, and that's it. Oh and then they show up for the launch party!

  • @KatiePuckrikSmells oh no - you think? I like Kate Moss so much :-( She's so natural. "Kate" is also my favourite.

  • @inna6373 I love Kate Moss too - she's got a genuine flair.

  • Katie, I bought Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker and I love it! It's not overly feminine at all, and it's honestly, as you said, "so easy to wear!". It's subtle and warm, a light floral set against woods and musk. And it lasts on my skin too! Thanks for the tip! And you're right, I love ambery-musky skin scents! Which is why my next perfume purchase is Prada Amber Pour Homme. You rock! As usual. =)

  • Yay, Brian! Thanks for letting me know about another Lovely-for-guys success story. Don't know if we already talked about this, but you should also check out Kenzo Power to tickle your musky-ambery fancy.

  • i love flower bomb for everyday ... guessby marciano for nights... and i just like viva la juicy umm yeah just kinda fruity scents but still like kind of classy in a way

  • Good to know - thanks!

  • lol i hate this perfume :P

  • What kind of perfumes do you usually go for? I find it helpful to know what people like so I can point peeps in the right direction when they ask for recommendations.

  • The mention of Anise reminded me of Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka. I own it and love it. Are you familiar with it? Sephora describes it as a woody oriental, if that helps.

  • Oh yes, Lolita Lempicka is a lively little number: the anise gives it quirkiness and sets it apart from the world of standard gourmands.

  • How do you feel about the recent assault of celebrity perfumes? Are they up to par with boutique scents? Or are they generic?

  • Generally, celebrity scents are a cynical ploy to cash in on fans' devotion to their favorite star, and they have the development budget of a household cleaner - and often smell about the same.

They often have fine perfumers creating them, but they can only do so much with the budget they're given.

  • Lovely, however, stands head and shoulders above most celebrity scents, because SJP was actually a creative director of the fragrance (as opposed to just signing off on a finished product, as is typical). Also, Coty invested more money and care in this release.

  • what is ur fav?

  • Right now, I love Chanel Coromandel. And Bruno Acampora Musc.

  • Can you review Guess by Marciano? I smelled it once and think it would make a good review!

  • i love this parfume

i use this in 3 years now.

  • great video, as always! i like and wear both Lovely and Covet, think both are very tasteful and amazingly well done. these are also the only celebrity fragrances in my collection.

A question: maybe i've missed it but i don't think you have a video on Mandragore by Annick Goutal? i'm curious about yr opinion. maybe one day? thank you!

  • I've not reviewed Mandragore yet. I have a funny "blind spot" with that one - I can never remember what it smells like the second after I sniff it. I think I expect it to smell a certain way based on the color of the bottle, and when it doesn't, my brain can't process it!

  • interesting! based on the bottle i expected the fragrance to be "darker" and maybe... warmer? i don't know. there's something about it that intrigues me. maybe it's just to buy it and get the mystery over with:))

  • What do you think about Covet?

  • I haven't tried it yet. What's it like?

  • i agree with the celebrity perfumes, except you should all check out Usher, really good especially if you like sweet cedar. Covet... it's got fantastic staying power like 6hrs, and its like a good cup of strong black tea with lemon served next to a dainty vase of flowers (the bergamont smell i guess reminds me of english tea )

  • I can really visualize that - thanks!

  • i don't associate Covet with tea at all:))) to me it's lemony and then chocolaty with a touch of lavender and musk... i like it that it's cosy enough to qualify as a nice fall/winter smell and still its sweetness is not at all overpowering, in fact at times it feels, i don't know.. transparent... and i like perfumes with some masculine edge, there is a small hint of that in Covet, too.

  • I wonder if whatever reads as "chocolate" hits another nose as "tea"? Or if the lavender's herbalness reads as tea-like?

Must track down some Covet to try.

  • i hate lovely :(

  • Katie send me your lovely: sarah jessica parker perfume if you don't want it. ha ha let me know and I will msg you my address.

  • "oh, this isn't the haiku anymore"

    hahaha

  • Katie Puckrik is the most beautiful woman in the world. Ever. Just watch her Vera Wang video! Do you watch and reply to these sad comment boys MIss Puckrik??!!

  • I love your furniture! It's gorgeous :)

  • Thanks so much! I love to collect antique furniture. The red chair is French and from the 1940s.

  • What's wrong with her left eyebrow?

  • Hi shoppinggirl - it's a scar from a childhood accident.

  • I have a scar on my left eyebrow too! Also from a childhood accident. Actually a boy chased me and I ran into a dumpster. HAHA.

  • I have this image of the boy being Pepe le Pew and you being the terrified cat trying to get away!

  • Thanks for weighing in, iz. I do try to get a reality check from fragrance-loving guys before I encourage perfume "cross-dressing". I know that Lovely has an under-the-radar following from in-the-know fellows.

I wonder what you think of Kenzo Power (for men, this time!), which strikes me as a tentative version of Lovely: soft florals and amber.

  • Well, I wonder if another men is going to read this, but I can back Katie's opinion when she says that this smells great on a man. Well, at least, it smells great on me. And yes, I am heterosexual (not that it really matters when it comes to perfumes), and my girlfriend loves it on me.

  • Do you think this is a perfume one could wear during the day? I really like it, but I don´t know if if would be too strong for the day. What do you tihink?

  • etorig, you can definitely wear Lovely during the day. The light woody/floral/musk combo dries down to a "your skin, but better", and it's not too flamboyant.

Just go easy on the initial application, because the musk aspect can be a little strong to begin with.

  • I didn't experience tobacco, but there's certainly a wisp of an earthy twang to this. I suppose vegetal and woody could suggest tobacco....

  • Okay, I'm not crazy. I thought I picked up an herbal note in this as well.

And I thought I almost smelled a bit of tobacco?

  • You should do a review on the Christina Aguilera perfume. The 'sometimes, it's all you need to wear' one. It's beautiful, and doesn't get the review it deserves.

I find Lovely clean and fresh, a little overpoweringly so when it first goes on though. Great review, Katie!

  • I actually wear the Liquid Satin version of Lovely, because I find it more subtle than the edp, which can be a little "hello musk!" at first.

  • Oh, I'll have to look into that.

    Thanks!

& by the way, I know a woman who's husband occasionally wear it, too ;)

  • Right onnnnnnnnn!

  • I absolutly swear by this perfume <3

  • Bambi startles.

    Bambi runs.

    How Lovely she runs.

    How Lovely she smells.

  • I was about to send your haiku as a submission for Poet Laureate, but then I noticed a problem. Bambi is a boy!

  • Poetic license!

  • Katie - love all your 'fume knowledge and how you present the top, mid and base notes in an easy to understand way. I think a talk show or at least a segment on one is the next logical step. Need to see more Katie! Talk it up!

  • I think that this is one of the best fragrances I have ever used! I feel so clean and fresh when I am wearing it. It is my current signature scent. I am also using the body lotion and shower gels and just think it is .... LOVELY! Any ideas on her newer fragrances?

  • I haven't smelled the new SJP fragrances: Dawn, Endless and Twilight. Has anyone else?

  • I'm thinking about trying them. I'll let you know what I think! :)

  • its boring (for me)

i think its so cause I'm german and don't understand really much haha xD

  • I like this perfume too. It smells really nice and surprising since its a celebrity frgrance.

  • I have to agree, I tend to shy away from celebrity fragrances because they always smell cheap, like something you can buy at walmart...which is usually where it ends up=D But I have to say this one survived that...at least for now haha.

  • I love your reviews. I was wondering if you could do a review on Sarah Jessica Parkers newest Smells. Her set of three perfumes, Dawn, Twilight, and Endless.

Thanks so much! You are Awesome!

  • Katie,

Love yout vids but I am stuck in the Shalimar rut. What is a new but comparable perfume?

    Thanks

  • As far as ruts go, Shalimar is a pretty gorgeous one to be stuck in. But I have JUST the thing - my new perfume crush, Miller Harris Fleur Oriental edt. It's a modern, slightly lighter take on Shalimar. I scored a bottle of the pure parfum on ebay at a great price, and I'm transfixed by the lush, vintage vibe.

Also, check out Prada edp, and if you're ever in a Chanel boutique, Coromandel edt. I'd be interested to hear what you think of these!

  • Another one I just thought of that you might like: Kenzo Flower Oriental, but I think it's a bit harsher than the Miller Harris Fleur Oriental. But worth a sniff.

  • Guys can wear girls perfumes because I gave my Cool Water to my boyfriend and I am about to give him my secret obsession because that perfume stinks and that is the worst perfume I have ever purchased! I listened to my daughter (she is 11) and she told me to buy it so I did and now I hate it I would give it to her but it is too mature of a scent for her.

  • Katie, what is your favorite perfume? Just curious mine is Eternity (for years I have loved it). But my current faves areL de Lolita Lempicka, M by Mariah Carey,Deseo and Glow by Jlo.

  • These days my favorite is Chanel Coromandel.

  • You have another new subscriber. :D

I'd love for you to review my favorite perfumes: CK euphoria, Gucci Rush, Armani She and lacoste dream of pink.

  • Welcome aboard the 'fume-train, new subscribers - join the perfume madness!

I appreciate all your suggestions...I'm keeping a list!

  • i love perfumes, have subbed ur channel :)

  • You got a new subscriber!

I Have Narcisco Rodriguez for her. I love how it wears for hours and hours.....

  • funny i like the end.. "and i smell" heheh funny (gosh im kindof childish"!ha spot on though totally agree!

  • have you tried Jean Paul Gaultier's (sorry if i misspelled the name) men's fragrance? the bottle of man's figure in white color?i can guarantee you that this perfume is like a bisex perfume :)

  • OMG! I effing love you! speaking of wearing the opposite sex's perfume/cologne I like to wear my Kenzo's Tokyo and my Husband's Kenneth Cole Reaction... Gonna go hunt down his bottle now. I so love your channel!

  • Thanks, Girleena! There's no reason why a smell intrinsically has a gender. Complete perfume freedom for boys and girls, that's what I say! And by wearing something from "the wrong side of the perfume counter", you have a better chance of not smelling like everybody else.

  • this is great.. i dont wear fragrences yet but ur rly descriptive :)

  • I'm addicted to your reviews since i watched the first video of yours. I would love to hear your opinion on Christian Dior's Dirorissimo which is one of my favourite scents, very old, and very unique. Either as a response here on in a video i would love to hear your opinion!

  • Every time I'm at the Dior counter, I revisit Diorissimo. It's the classic lily of the valley fragrance - almost salty in its pungency. For me, lily of the valley is the Lolita of the flower world: you think it's sweet and innocent, but it turns out to have quite a bit of carnal knowledge!

  • Hihi i love the way you talk :D SOO gonna subscribe :D findely someone who isnt like convincing people to wear a perfume but just tells her opinion :D

  • Haha, I love your videos!

Why haven't I found them before?!

I agree about Lovely. It is, well...lovely.

  • this lady is so funny.

  • My mom bought this perfume for herself. It's a lot like another I own but I find myself always using hers, ha. Great scent.

  • I'm not so much for the licorice smell, it offends my nose, Big Time! So, based on what you said, I might want to avoid this fragrance. Thanks for the heads up!

  • Lovely is one of my favorite perfumes. I always get compliments at work whenever I wear it.

    Thanks for the great review.

  • Frankly, I think the Sarah Jessica Parker association turns a lot of people off, though.

I smelled it when it came out, and thought the name was very appropriate. A female friend who was with me at the time (who actually wears female fragrances) was unimpressed.

I'm not so sure about guys wearing it, though.

  • A celeb's name attached to a fragrance can be a double-edged sword, considering the strong feelings people can muster for these "dream figures".

  • I love your review on this product. It's really good how you give a lot of description into your reviews, keep up the good work!

  • You said it really good: "It doesn't try too hard!"

I love this one and it helped me often in these situations when you don't really know what would be appropriate to wear... :-)

  • I'm not a Sarah fan so I avoided sniffing this... i'll give it a try based on your review.

  • Your reviews are so smart and sassy. I always look forward to watching them.

  • Thanks for that!

  • This and Narcisco Rodriguez for her are my ultimate favorite perumes. I call them my "white t-shirt and Jeans" scents. Great review!

  • aw YAY!!! a perfume that i have reviewed! SOOOO video responding -- thanks so much! YOU DID A GREAT JOB!!! I totally wear this ;) hahah its fairly masculine on my skin :)

  • I was skeptical of this one because, you know, it's a celebrity perfume. It sounds...lovely...though. I'll have to check it out.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker's involvement in the creation of Lovely is well-documented (Chandler Burr covered the process in his book, "The Perfect Scent". Knowing that SJP is quite the fume-hound herself raised my expectations that Lovely would possess more than a modicum of distinction. But having said all that, it took me ages to get around to actually trying it! It's that "not another hollow celeb perfume" dread.

  • your so cool girl what you're doing is amazing !! P.S love the hair cut : )

  • You're very kind! Thanks!

  • This perfume sounds gorgeous.

  • Love your reviews. You are so adorable!

  • Katie! Hi! Hi! It's always a treat to see a new vid -- another GREAT one! I'm LOVING my Lolita. : )

  • So happy to hear that you're enjoying your prize!

  • =) great

do u know the parfume from christina aguilera?

    inspire an' the other ?

  • Lovely?

    Is really strong.

    I suggest it for

people in there late 40's 50's and older.

  • Some people are acutely sensitive to "white musk" (the stuff that gives a fragrance that clean, soft quality, and is present in Lovely), and find that a little goes a long way.

I find that it clobbers me over the head in the Clean line of fragrances, which are instant headache-inducers in me.

  • I love your reviews. Informative and it holds ones attention. You make me want to buy perfumes again!

  • Glad to hear it!

  • Such a great creative review!

  • Thanks for that!

  • I really love that perfume: )

  • Katie I'm happy

    You are now using haiku

    It is wonderful

    (It's Adrianne, by the way)

I like how you recommend that men should try it; when I first smelled a knock off of it at Walgreen's, the first thing I thought was that it would probably smell wonderful on a man. I think it's a really great fragrance for a celebrity perfume. While it's not too bold or daring, it's still quite a departure from the fruity florals and aquatics that are out there.

  • Hi Adrianne! You busted me, girly, cuz your great Tabu haiku inspired me!

Totally agree that for a celeb fragrance, Lovely is indeed a departure.

  • haha. i heart your haiku :)

  • i bot SJP Lovely when it was launched first--its really soft, fresh n floral. But the only con i felt was it does not last long enough...so either u gotta carry it with u or u gotta douse :-(

  • Very interesting! I love both SJP and the NC, but never thought they smelled similar... npw I'll be re-thinking that!

  • really good point about "lovely" it CAN be worn by a man because its not super super girly but it is nice i agree good review :)

  • what is your favourtie perfume of all time?!?!?!

  • Hard to say "of all time" - especially now, when I fall in love with something new every week, it seems like!

But I've been sweet on Chanel Coromandel for over a year. Am also loving By Kilian Liaisons Dangereuses, these days.

  • I love how you give across your ideas.

You are a great actress, I love the way you talk.

    Hi from spain ;-)

  • Hi back atcha! Thanks for checking in!

  • Hiya, great review, i really like lovely now im nearly finished my first bottle, wasn't too keen at first but i think it really grows on you and its easy to wear. Ive never tried the For Her but now i think i'll try it out!

  • I only like the lovely liquid satin

  • I reviewed the edp, but for me, the Liquid Satin is my favorite formulation, too. Very soft, subtle...and makes your legs and arms gleam like a glamor puss!

  • This fragrance is sophisticated when you dont expect it. Sexy and expensive and says I dont eat fast food......lol Great review!

  • I love lovely and hubby always knows when I am wearing it may have to let him try it :0)

    xxxJoolsxxx

  • I have bought at least 4 bottles of Lovely in the last couple years it just smells so clean and good for all year round. I do beg to differ that it compares to narcisso rodriguez for Her which smells too manly and spicy..now That is a womans fragrance a man really could wear!

  • Interesting take. I'd love to hear a man's view on how those 2 compare.

  • Can you review Carolina herrera 212??

  • I thought this one was so drugstore-ish that I would have never taken it seriously. Now you have me intrigued.

I love the Jo Malone Fragrances...and mixing them. Tom Ford always has something unusual. I am loving White Patchouli. I love Patchouli Pure by Fresh as well. (LOVE the Fresh company...many good ones in their index)

  • I too LOVE Tom Ford's 'White Patchouli'! What do you think of his others? 'Black Orchid'? I haven't tried it yet.

  • I want to review Black Orchid soon. It's deep, fruity, very rich. I know both men and women who love it.

  • I like Fresh Patchouli, too. And their Cannibis Santal. And their Tobacco Caramel.
