You know what I'd love to see? More role modles for the latinos. There are hardly shows, movies and even books about modern hispanic families. Not one making fun at us but one we can relate to and go "Oh yeah I've." If we are in the movies, they show the sexy, uneducated, house help, gang related, spanish speaking,oversized family. We really arn't like that. I say the only true thing that still kind of stands true is the spanish, but that's starting to die within the generations.

My area has a large latin and black population, so people don't think much about stereotypes since over half of the people are latin. I'm a grade A student working on being an author, no one bats an eye.

I am a proud Salvadorian and some of these stereotypes MAY be true for the poorer classes but things do change. Latinos are the third largest minorities in universities. UCLA is at 15% right now and 13% at Cal. We're on our way up. Cholos are on their way out

Latinos are in fact REALLY smart. I hate to use this stereotype, but we've smuggling drug to the US for several years, and drug traffickers always find the way to do so, despite authorities. Traffickers are always a million steps ahead os them. We have "malicia indigena", which is not really "bad".
