I'm not entirely sure. The item where the dye has faded is more than likely already sealed, and something I didn't mention, is that this only works on veg tan leather, so if it's a garment, and it's already sealed and not veg tanned, then it probably won't work. Baking soda mixed with some water in a spray bottle will do the trick, I'm not sure on proportions.
Very interesting! Can you do this to leather where the dye has faded? I want to re-dye a saddle that has faded so I can sell it. You mention it will stink and to add baking soda and water to it. Do you add it to the vinegaroon or to the leather afterwards? What ratio? Thank you!
Sorry, no. Only on things with tannins in them, like leather, or oak.
