This Video shows Traditional Values are doing lots of good to expose homosexuals for what they are about. You can not stand the truth. It will set you free if you could only see that. @robtish Homosexuals do not want you to know that many of them were sexually abused when young, because many people who were so abused go on to molest others. And homosexuals do not want you to know that they are more likely to molest children than heterosexuals are. Ray Blanchard, et al., "Fraternal Birth Order and Sexual Orientation in Pedophiles," Archives of Sexual Behavior 29 (2000), p. 464
@robtish since approximately one-third of child sex crimes are committed by men against boys, and homosexuals comprise only 1 to 3 percent of the population, gay men are greatly overrepresented in child sex offenses.1

@paulinotou the gene abel evidence fruitycunt used has been discredited. Gene Abel's findings were unable to be replicated, his methods were considered disturbing and cruel, he misrepresented data, and refused to show others his actual data. so don;t worry, fruitycunt uses that as evidence all the time, and its incorrect. i think abel even went so far as to say many gay men that said they werent molested, were, and recorded that without any evidence.

Im black. Our struggle for civil rights was largely inspired by the civil rights struggle in India, led by Ghandi. Nonviolence, community support, we got it from India.
There are zero appreciable 'dangers' of gay marriage being legal. Let them have it. I do not feel 'insulted'.
Dudes like you helped me to realize that injustice anywhere, is injustice EVERYWHERE. I'll fight for them, in the name of the black gay men who fought for Black Civil Rights.
I do have goggle eyes, but from training for the AID LIfeCycle, on my bike and wearing sunglasses. And as for dyeing my eyebrows, that's genuinely funny.. You're a perfect specimen of someone who can only see through the lens of his own prejudice and stereotype, even to the point of blinding you to the truth. That's why we call homophobia a mental disorder -- it makes you unable to see reality, and that's a psychological problem.
That's a riot. If you can't see the gray in my hair it's because youtube's compression isn't good with that kind of detail. But your comment is very revealing. How many genuinely straight guys pay that much attention to the color of another man's hair? Be careful--you're revealing more than you intend to.
By the sound of it all crimes agaings glbtg should be hate crimes. That's the same as a white man fighting with a black man and he's claiming genocide. Which he has a right to do. Man what ever happened to regular fighting?
God taught us to "Love thy neighbor as thyself". Apparently anti-gay activists and organizations such as Traditional Values Coalition, Focus on the Family, and American Family Association, etc.; have FORGOTTEN that quote.
There are alot of people that don't like themselves so by your reasoning it's ok to hurt someone if you don't care to get hurt too. Also self love is selfish so that's bullshit too. Love is selfless. There must be a higher definition of love than loving yourself. That is narcissism.
What I mean is our definition of love is somewhat distorted. Alot of bad things are done in the name of love. A better example is love each other as Jesus loves the church. Using christian example but not wanting to offend anyone is tricky.
Alright, I have a real problem here. I had to watch this video a few times before I could understand what you were saying, because I kept getting lost in your eyes. My god are you hot! Please tell me you're single, even if you're not. Let me have that? I could watch you talk for hours. Your face has brightened my day. Thanks!
and if I am gonna say that, "I AM A CHRISTIAN" I need to live my life as He would.
Jesus, His disciples and the people that left europe for FREEEDOM were being persecuted unto death.
If those people saw that what they came here for was now being used against their brothers and sisters, they would be on every news channel saying WHOS NAME DO YOU DO THIS IN?! Because my friend it sure isn't Jesus.
First off. Any person who is intentionally attacked, whether actually hit/kicked/attacked or having any bit of their property vandalized because of their color/creed or orientation makes me and the God I worship sick.
I just think that if I am attacked and beaten because I'm walking down the street shouldn't be legislated LESS or MORE than any gay man being beaten for being gay.
I truly can't imagine the hate you guys get, it would be arrogant for me to say I do, but...
if we are all created equal endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness then that's all we need.
The TVC is a joke and any church that hooks up with their "faulty math" (to be kind, it's really just a blatant lie, they were hoping you wouldn't count) should lose their 5013-C.
I hope all that read this understand that I despise anyone who would attack anybody based on anything.
"if we are all created equal endowed by our creator with certain unalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness then that's all we need." -Okay, tell that to African Americans who only got "equal" rights in the past 40 years. Unalieanble rights are resereved for straight, white, anglo, Christians in this country. You need to understand that not everyone has the same privaledge that ou do as a white straight Christian.
But as a straight people, you and I already have greater protection against such attacks. For one, we are not picked out and attacked for our sexuality or for holding the hand of our partner when we walk down the street. And America has a LONG history of ignoring crimes against gays and lesbians. Hate crime laws are meant to deter the kinds of attacks that people who are not part of the dominant culture are vulnerable to.
I completely agree with virtually everything you said.
I don't think 'hate crime' laws are gonna be any type of a deterrent. in the same ways the death penalty isn't a deterrent.
So in my opinion if it's not gonna stop people from having hate in their heart , why are we going to do it?
If that is true then why do we do it?
This is America, freedom is the corner stone of our republic. People gay/straight/black/white should be free to walk the streets with honor and dignity.
However their are the absolute scum of the earth that want to take that very freedom away.
How do we fix that? I don't think putting stiffer penalties on already warped minds are going to do anything.
I absolutely realize that things haven't been equal in this land BUT if we look to see who the country voted in I think we can see that "the divide" is greatly shrinking.
One last thing you say it's a DOMINANT CULTURE making these attacks, I would say
thats it's the SMALLEST fraction of people making these attacks, in the guise of WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MEN, I'm not saying they aren't but what I am saying is AS a WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MAN if I or any of my WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MEN friends saw anybody, but esp a gay or black man being attacked by a GROUP of warped people, ME and MY/WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MALE friends would jump in to get them out.
Because just as these men and women are being attacked, the Man that I live my life for was killed for all of us.
True, a very small fraction of white-Anglo-Christian-Straights perpetrate hate crimes. But they ALL reap the benefits of being part of the dominant culture and ALL have the multitude of extra protections which that creates. AND virtually all of them take part in replicating the system of marginalization, whether overt or covert, of homosexuals (and other minorities).
"TVC doesn't think a man slapping his wife counts as violence."
To be fair, they probably don't...they probably think it's a god-given right to be used by the man to keep his wife in her place. You know, "traditional values" and all...
Domestic disputes were never handled by the cops. Alot of times things shouldn't always involve the law. A man slapping his wife? How about a wife slapping her husband? That was biased to show the man as an abuser. Sometimes people do ask for a slap. Haven't you dared someone to hit you so you can kick their ass?
Yes but domestic violence is rampant so I would think there is a lot of gay on gay crime that doesn't get categorized as domestic crime since they are most likely not married. Maybe I'm wrong, how do they categorize a lovers quarrel it if not domestic when there's a tiff? Or two gays fighting over man? Seriously
As stated in the video, the FBI only counts it as a hate crime if it motivated by the offender's bias against the victim's sexual orientation. Two gays fighting over a man would not count as a hate crime unless one of them was motivated by a hatred of gays in general.
And as for the trouble of keeping the texts sharp during compression, try making them bigger or using a simpler font. (Though, I think most texts are in Arial, which is just about the simplest font available.)
If someone started killing catholic people as they left church, and the killer remained at large, only killing one or two people each time he attacked, you can imagine that this would strike fear into ALL catholics (at least within the geographical area).
This is the reason for "hate crime" law, it does not just affect the victim, it affects the entire class. So, yes, when people decide to go "roll some fags", they are committing hate crimes against the gay class of people.
During the Spanish civil war, Catholics were being persecuted and murdered pretty horribly. It's got nothing to do with religion - ultimately it all comes down to materialism. Catholicism isn't to blame. Rob is pointing out hypocricy, and like a true Catholic he's got the right idea about the commandments here. A Catholic should know to love all people, period. It's hard to do and anyone can slip into bigotry, but Rob's doing the right thing here and as a Catholic I for one support his work.
I can't even begin to express how superb your videos are. My God, you should be the CEO of some company that makes political commercials. I am stunned by how effective your stuff is. It devastates the lies of the anti-gay bigots.
Great vid demonstrating the dishonesty (or stupidity, or both) of these nuts. I'm a supporter of gay rights, but I'm not convinced that this bill is a good idea. I believe that the CRIME is the grounds for punishment, not the motivation. Yes, it's important to determine if motivation was a factor (as is the case with accidentally causing harm), but it's wrong to say gays deserve special laws that make harming a gay worse than harming anyone else. It only goes to further encapsulate gays.
It's not a "special law." Other minority groups have the same protection in the law that the lgbt community needs. It's a powerful thing for the government to say it is wrong to hate.
BonnieHalfEleven: Why are they needed? I understand the need for civil rights laws, but why does the gov't need to say, "it's wrong to hate?" The gov't doesn't, can't and shouldn't try to control emotions. Creating an equal-opportunity atmosphere is fine, but saying that a crime based on a racist/bigoted motivation should be more punishable than another motivation doesn't suppress hatred. If anything, it divides by grouping people and assigning special rights.
because haters often use simple crimes, felonies, to intimidate and harass members of a minority group.
Should a white man who burns a cross on a black family's lawn be arrested and tried for vandalism/destruction of property -- slaps on the wrist that probably won't lead to jail time.
OR should our laws send a message, by trying him under a hate crime law, that this kind of indimidation and harassment is not acceptable?
I like the way these crimes are kept track of, but creating different punishments for the same crime based on the motivation is just saying these groups are different and should be treated differently. I kill a man, I go to prison. I kill a man because he's gay, I go to prison longer. That doesn't seem right. We should keep track of crimes based on such discrimination, but we should punish them ust the same.
There are too many people who think that violence against someone simply because they are different is OK, and that's why hate crime should be a more severe penalty. We don't have true equality. We have a black president, and I know people who still use the "n" word. Prejudice is wrong and the law must recognize that.
Well, motive is a factor. For example, someone who kills a man due to hitting him in a car unintentionally while DUI is manslaughter. Punishable, but it was an accident, not so severe. Someone who kills someone to rob them is worse, but still a one-off thing. Someone who kills someone out of hate for a group they belong to is not only a murderer, they also demonstrating threat of murder to the group to which the victim belongs. That warrents more severe punishment still.
@BalmungSama0: the point of the longer punishment is to send a message that discrimination is wrong. So in essence, killing a man because he's gay is a "combination" crime... the actual killing, and the discrimination involved.
@BalmungSama0 the propose of tagging Hate crime to a case; such as, a white man killing a black man or a straight man killing a gay man, is to try and stop crime based on hate. What would be the point of a normal punishment for murder if it was based on hate. We make laws to try and lessen the chance of these crimes happening. A lot of crime are based on hate so they make is more punishable to try and stop it from happening. This is simple logical thinking.
"A hate crime is when someone willfully causes bodily injury or attempts to cause bodily injury to any person because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, or disability of any person."
That's how the law defined it, until recently. Do you think protection should be REMOVED for these classes? 'cuz if you're gonna go halfway, you might as well go all the way....
"Do you think protection should be REMOVED for these classes?"
We are ALL protected without hate crime laws. The only thing that hate crime laws do is assign a STRONGER punishment if your motivation was based on certain aspects. I really don't see a scenario where a drunk guy says to another, "Hey, let's beat up that fag!" and the other says, "Naw, that's 2 extra years in prison if we get caught."
If you want equality under the law, everyone should be treated equal.
The point isn't to prevent people from committing the crimes, it's to keep those who are a legitimate threat to a group of people away from them for longer, because those people are clearly more dangerous to society than those who commit non-hate crimes.
For example, who do you think is more dangerous, a man who beats a guy up because black, or someone who beats a guy up for sleeping with his wife? Black people make up 13% of Americans, but people who slept with the second guy's wife probably don't, so clearly the first one is a threat to more people and thus should be locked away for longer.
By the way, hate crime laws also protect Christians, white people and heterosexuals.
But I think the point Rob's making is that violence against gays, and some violence in general, is not even being considered violence, according to the TVC, regardless of the motive.
Excellent video! I really appreciate all of your videos, they are exactly what we need right now. Reasoned, politely passionate responses that can be easily verified as true to combat all of the distortions put out there against us. Thank you!
Another great video. I showed your last video to my university's secularist group the other day (many of whom are also avid gay rights activists), and it got applause at the end, something very few videos garnish. Kudos on the great work you do.

@robtish Homosexuals do not want you to know that many of them were sexually abused when young, because many people who were so abused go on to molest others.
Maccabeus1897 2 years ago
But as a straight people, you and I already have greater protection against such attacks. For one, we are not picked out and attacked for our sexuality or for holding the hand of our partner when we walk down the street. And America has a LONG history of ignoring crimes against gays and lesbians. Hate crime laws are meant to deter the kinds of attacks that people who are not part of the dominant culture are vulnerable to.
Maccabeus1897 2 years ago
I completely agree with virtually everything you said.
I don't think 'hate crime' laws are gonna be any type of a deterrent. in the same ways the death penalty isn't a deterrent.
So in my opinion if it's not gonna stop people from having hate in their heart , why are we going to do it?
If that is true then why do we do it?
This is America, freedom is the corner stone of our republic. People gay/straight/black/white should be free to walk the streets with honor and dignity.
akabeardman 2 years ago
However their are the absolute scum of the earth that want to take that very freedom away.
How do we fix that? I don't think putting stiffer penalties on already warped minds are going to do anything.
I absolutely realize that things haven't been equal in this land BUT if we look to see who the country voted in I think we can see that "the divide" is greatly shrinking.
One last thing you say it's a DOMINANT CULTURE making these attacks, I would say
akabeardman 2 years ago
thats it's the SMALLEST fraction of people making these attacks, in the guise of WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MEN, I'm not saying they aren't but what I am saying is AS a WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MAN if I or any of my WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MEN friends saw anybody, but esp a gay or black man being attacked by a GROUP of warped people, ME and MY/WHITE/CHRISTIAN/MALE friends would jump in to get them out.
Because just as these men and women are being attacked, the Man that I live my life for was killed for all of us.
akabeardman 2 years ago
True, a very small fraction of white-Anglo-Christian-Straights perpetrate hate crimes. But they ALL reap the benefits of being part of the dominant culture and ALL have the multitude of extra protections which that creates. AND virtually all of them take part in replicating the system of marginalization, whether overt or covert, of homosexuals (and other minorities).
Maccabeus1897 2 years ago
"TVC doesn't think a man slapping his wife counts as violence."
To be fair, they probably don't...they probably think it's a god-given right to be used by the man to keep his wife in her place. You know, "traditional values" and all...
lucretiacyanide 2 years ago 2
Domestic disputes were never handled by the cops. Alot of times things shouldn't always involve the law. A man slapping his wife? How about a wife slapping her husband? That was biased to show the man as an abuser. Sometimes people do ask for a slap. Haven't you dared someone to hit you so you can kick their ass?

As stated in the video, the FBI only counts it as a hate crime if it motivated by the offender's bias against the victim's sexual orientation. Two gays fighting over a man would not count as a hate crime unless one of them was motivated by a hatred of gays in general.

It only goes to further encapsulate gays.
zombiechaddy 2 years ago
It's not a "special law." Other minority groups have the same protection in the law that the lgbt community needs. It's a powerful thing for the government to say it is wrong to hate.
BonnieHalfElven 2 years ago 2
BonnieHalfEleven: Why are they needed? I understand the need for civil rights laws, but why does the gov't need to say, "it's wrong to hate?" The gov't doesn't, can't and shouldn't try to control emotions. Creating an equal-opportunity atmosphere is fine, but saying that a crime based on a racist/bigoted motivation should be more punishable than another motivation doesn't suppress hatred. If anything, it divides by grouping people and assigning special rights.
zombiechaddy 2 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
because haters often use simple crimes, felonies, to intimidate and harass members of a minority group.
Should a white man who burns a cross on a black family's lawn be arrested and tried for vandalism/destruction of property -- slaps on the wrist that probably won't lead to jail time.
OR should our laws send a message, by trying him under a hate crime law, that this kind of indimidation and harassment is not acceptable?
punkzanyj 2 years ago 6
I like the way these crimes are kept track of, but creating different punishments for the same crime based on the motivation is just saying these groups are different and should be treated differently. I kill a man, I go to prison. I kill a man because he's gay, I go to prison longer. That doesn't seem right. We should keep track of crimes based on such discrimination, but we should punish them ust the same.
BalmungSama0 2 years ago
There are too many people who think that violence against someone simply because they are different is OK, and that's why hate crime should be a more severe penalty. We don't have true equality. We have a black president, and I know people who still use the "n" word. Prejudice is wrong and the law must recognize that.
BonnieHalfElven 2 years ago 4
Well, motive is a factor. For example, someone who kills a man due to hitting him in a car unintentionally while DUI is manslaughter. Punishable, but it was an accident, not so severe. Someone who kills someone to rob them is worse, but still a one-off thing. Someone who kills someone out of hate for a group they belong to is not only a murderer, they also demonstrating threat of murder to the group to which the victim belongs. That warrents more severe punishment still.
FearlessSon 2 years ago 4
then remove ALL hate crime laws, blacks would have a field day.
fallendmr 2 years ago
@BalmungSama0: the point of the longer punishment is to send a message that discrimination is wrong. So in essence, killing a man because he's gay is a "combination" crime... the actual killing, and the discrimination involved.
divinehumanism 1 year ago
@BalmungSama0 the propose of tagging Hate crime to a case; such as, a white man killing a black man or a straight man killing a gay man, is to try and stop crime based on hate. What would be the point of a normal punishment for murder if it was based on hate. We make laws to try and lessen the chance of these crimes happening. A lot of crime are based on hate so they make is more punishable to try and stop it from happening. This is simple logical thinking.
Dustylane2009 1 year ago
"A hate crime is when someone willfully causes bodily injury or attempts to cause bodily injury to any person because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, or disability of any person."
That's how the law defined it, until recently. Do you think protection should be REMOVED for these classes? 'cuz if you're gonna go halfway, you might as well go all the way....
AouryBear 2 years ago
AouryBear:
"Do you think protection should be REMOVED for these classes?"
We are ALL protected without hate crime laws. The only thing that hate crime laws do is assign a STRONGER punishment if your motivation was based on certain aspects. I really don't see a scenario where a drunk guy says to another, "Hey, let's beat up that fag!" and the other says, "Naw, that's 2 extra years in prison if we get caught."
If you want equality under the law, everyone should be treated equal.

zombiechaddy:
The point isn't to prevent people from committing the crimes, it's to keep those who are a legitimate threat to a group of people away from them for longer, because those people are clearly more dangerous to society than those who commit non-hate crimes.
johnaryder 2 years ago 7
For example, who do you think is more dangerous, a man who beats a guy up because black, or someone who beats a guy up for sleeping with his wife? Black people make up 13% of Americans, but people who slept with the second guy's wife probably don't, so clearly the first one is a threat to more people and thus should be locked away for longer.
By the way, hate crime laws also protect Christians, white people and heterosexuals.
