if u get caught in a rut..learning something totally different....also try improvising over it..

i never bothered learning scales or runs...i just played along with CDs over and over..until I got things right...eventually your ear will develop, and u can get songs better than any tab can show u...

I do know theory, most of it I got on my own, and I filled in the gaps with a course I took in University.
