Hey, I'm currently building my studio and I really dont unerstand how you get your rackmount units like effects (reverb, compressors eq ect...) to go through into your recordings. Like could you please explain how you link them up through your mixer... into your DAW or however it works.
Great demo. I learned a lot just by watching. The snare sound isn't that great, but after you tweek it, really shows the quality of your unit. Very impressive. You take a hoo-hum snare sample, and turn it into a beast! that is what makes your demo really good. Thank you for posting!
anyone know if this box can sound natural too...like doing realistic rooms+plates? or is it only a grainy 80s sounding unit? I thought it was supposed to be more natural maybe like a quantec, but here it sounds like a dated 80's snare verb...but that could be the snare sample sound clouding my judgement. please use a real acoustic snare test source next time.
Yes, the snare sound is an 80's sample and is truly cheesy. I think the point of this video is that you can take a cheesy old snare sound and make it sound good. The 2016 is as beautiful and natural sounding as you can find for its relatively low (under $2000) price. It definitely helps to hear it live, rather than on YouTube.
Well if you have an instrument mixer it will probably work. At least mine has an aux send which can control the amount of volume for each instrument that goes to the effect unit.
no you would route this through a returns channel on a mixer so you can use it on any instrument going into a track on the mixer...or send it back to its self

Can you use this reverb unit on more than one sound at once? or do you need one for each sound?
alorumin 3 years ago
do you mean that you have say... five instruments and use the effect unit for each one separate?

Yes thats what i mean.

I love this!!! So 80's!
I think the first reverb after you turn it on is the best:D it reminds me of the drum sound in some of Return's songs.
Love this reverb!
