Most commercial ether contain inhibitors such as BHT to inhibit diethylether hydroperoxide formation. You have to leave ether out for a long time to get peroxides if inhibited

Nice that smelling meth is enough for law enforcement to take action in Nebraska. I've got what seems to be a meth factory operating 1 flr. below who appear to be making it in small amounts so as to not arouse too much suspicion (they're wholesalers). I seem to be the only one effected by their choking fumes so calls & letters to police, FD, health dept., buildings dept. & mayor's office have yielded a big fat 0. And to further debate with you people, this person was a complete MORON, any real chemist knows you can SYNTHESIZE these drugs harmlessly, when you have the permit to, and aren't in any chance of trouble. A. Marijuana is not physically or mentally addictive, nor does it cause cancer, or deaths. Cigarettes are legal, tobacco, and caffeine. These are drugs, both with very bad health problems as well, yet legal. And socially acceptable, why? Because they make the government a hell of a lot of money. No, doing the drugs alone doesn't bestow a knowledge of wealth on them. And they aren't my OBSESSIVE study, I stud pharmacology in whole. From simple aspirin and tylenol up. Not for ways to get high, you can get high off of a lot of things, should you? No. And you think I sit here defending the criminals, murderers, gangs, etc. That use drugs. That is incorrect. Needing it again. Most depression is either a serotonin, or dopamine imbalance. And yes, ecstacy can, in HIGH doses, and daily use over a long time, in itself cause a serotonin imbalance.
