@Cstyle12 I don't think many people are aware that NCSoft forced him out of the company, and that Richard's "resignation letter" was really written by NCSoft themselves.

Anyone reading this, if you still blame General Brtiish for TR's death, look up his lawsuit against NCSoft. NCSoft did some pretty bullshit things to kill off Tabula Rasa. It wasn't Richard's decision.

I still think it was NC's weak attempt to save their pet project and wannabe-WoW-Killer Aion. "Surprisingly" the moment TR shut down, Aion was going live and, surprise, surprise, TR players generously got a month of Aion playtime...

NCSoft has a horrible reputation for killing off the games it publishes. Exteel and Auto Assault are two other MMOs that were killed off before they pulled the plug on Tabula Rasa. Makes me not want to play any of their games, since you never know when NCSoft will shut them down on a whim.

It was a dark day in my clan when Richard Garriott came back from playing spaceman and NCSoft said it was getting closed down. It was kinda sad to watch this I miss farming capture points with my bro, we live on the other side of the world from each other and this was how we did stuff with eachother on a regular basis, tried other mmo's but for me its just not the same.....

NCSoft made Tabula Rasa free to play in its last months, but the servers have been shut down since February.

A damned shame, too. Tabula Rasa was great.

mancamiatipoola: As far as I know? NCSoft killed TR because they didn't think it was profitable enough. Part of that was due to TR's long development (Destination Games practically made TWO MMOs during development).

Richard Garriott was forced out of NCSoft while he was in the middle of his publicity space flight for TR--and now he's suing them.

Apparently he's said that he'd like to continue Tabula Rasa. Dunno if he'll do it, though. Haven't heard of any fan-run server projects, either.

i want this game so bad my brother says its bull but i dont think so the graphics are way better than WoW and you can do PvP against your own race on SVS the guns are cool too its pretty cool that for each person they make the story happen like the story is based on your actions overall one of the best mmo's ever, guess what the guy who made this (RG)made some of the best selling and nominating mmo's before WoW and this one is one of his best too and its after WoW.
