David Cassidy - Man Undercover - Teammates Pt 1

Began as the movie A CHANCE TO LIVE on the Police Story anthology. Ratings were large & Cassidy was nominated for an Emmy so a series was quickly created...too quickly. Meant as a mid-season replacement for January, it aired two-months early (rushed scripts) to replace the failed show W.E.B. (the TV version of NETWORK). Writing was considered very weak and repetitive with no character and cancelled by Jan. 4 after 8 episodes. All 10 episodes shot were shown during the summer reruns.

Tom Simcox studied meditation alongside The Beatles at Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram in India. There's a reference to it in the book Revolver: The Secret History of the Beatles, by Geoffrey Giuliano. John Lennon is speaking, referring to the ashram, "And there's a cowboy there called Tom (Simcox) who plays cowboys on TV and, my, did the Beatles wives go for him in a big way.".

The actor playing Dixon (silver hair, mustache, brown tie) is Tom Simcox. A truly excellent actor who has been an anonymous star since the early 60s. Back then he competed with the Michael Parks, Glenn Corbetts and Robert Conrads of the day. In the 70s he played villains and sleazy Lotharios. Then finally got his own series Code R in 1977 playing police chief Walt Robinson. Was also known for many guest star spots in Westerns, notably Gunsmoke (8 times) and The Virginian.

I would love to see him really kick butt like karate stuff like Lorenzo Lamas did in Renegade, Daveo never got tough enough, but still so cute when he grabs and punches lol
