Garden City Pom Pon State Champs 2006

Pom has nothing to do with turns or leaps. This competition is completely different. We wern't a dance pom team it's just straight Pom. There's a big difference, I would know I've been dancing my whole life. GC is doing something right to be in the top 3 for the past 9 years. I was on this 06 team and we worked our butts off for that state title and we won with out any tech... Just because it's different doesn't mean you gotta knock it.

It is a shame that these girls' amazing talent is being wasted on choreography and horrid music choices like this. These girls wouldn't stand a chance in UDA Nationals with a dance like this. They have talent. They made the dance look good, but they could go from good to unbelieveable with just a few changes.

Pom is dance just with poms to add special affect to the dance. Poms consists of stiff arms and hitting on the right counts and they did that. But they also add some cool Dance moves too. When u have poms u also have dance. Great job girls!!!

To all the people that are hatin on the music,, its just the way it is. Pom-pon isn't cheerleading.. you use music that you can hit the moves to. it addds to the effect of the clean and sharp moves. And the choreography isn't bad. It's pom. What were you expecting? Break dancing? Good job guys :)

i really liked this routine. i loved the song. theyre moving away from the standard "poms" song. and i thought that it worked really well. the only thing is that i i think they should have been a little more precise, not stiff, but really hit their arms. other then that i thought it was an amazing routine, great dancing, good song choice.

Wow. Incredible choreography. And the execution is pretty much flawless.

And even though I'm usually not a big fan of using this type of music in competition routines...your choreography and style matches the song so well that it doesn't even matter.

This is an awesome routine, performed extremely well and nobody can argue with that!

it's really clean, and definitely unique. but the skipping to formations, and a lot of the other movements, don't exactly match the horrid song. i do like this routine SO MUCH better than their 2007/2008 routines... its much less creepy, i guess, and more enjoyable to watch!

I guess this whole argument stems from the fact that there are different types of Poms out there. The style I learned is poms is much more like dance than hitting cheerleader like moves. And I dissagree with the fact that the music has to be like that. I guess we should all stop assuming that the people commenting on the videos also dont know what they are talking about because honestly who else would look up videos on poms unless they were involoved in poms themself.

It is most definitely not supposed to be preppy and bouncy. that's for cheerleaders. they are amazing and it is terribly difficult to be that sharp for that long and do some of the wow moves they do. Learn something before you criticize & see it in person.
